Lauren first saw paper straws in 2011 at a family event. She was inspired by how something so small could make her smile and how it dressed up the gathering. A fashion designer by degree, Lauren immediately started thinking of her own designs. You'll note that many beve-designed options have a textile reference, too. After talking to her husband and finding a manufacturer that was up to their standards (no soggy straws here!), they decided to take the leap and get into the paper straw business in early 2012. There were only a few other shops on Etsy selling paper straws at the time and no one was creating the original designs like Lauren was (like our birch, orange herringbone and very popular antique blue floral straws). Since then, beve has added more products such as latex balloons with beve-designed overall prints, paper favor baggies and washi tape with many beve-designed options and we look forward to expanding even further. beve provides pretty details for your big events and your every day lives. beve always strives to bring an environmental benefit to our products, whether they're biodegradable, reusable or made in the USA. We think pretty things for party and for life should help keep the world pretty too.
