About

Geeky Accessories with traditional touches.

This is a one woman show, run from my home near the US capital. In addition to doing online sales, I regularly attend anime, comic book and general geek conventions all around Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

I've been crafting and creating art since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I got started making parasols when my friend needed a Kaylee (Firefly) parasol for a costume almost a decade ago and she ended up with extra blank parasols. I started painting geeky designs and haven't stopped since.

I also love to create jewelry, especially those with geeky themes that are hard to find in retail stores. So far I've learned to do metal stamping, custom cutting, soldering and other torch work, chain maille, gemstone setting, and enameling and I'm always looking for new skills to add to my repertoire to create one-of-a-kind designs.

I love to work with customers to collaborate on unique creations, so please don't be shy about messaging me if you have an idea you'd like to see.

I love custom orders, so please feel free to message me with an idea if you don't see exactly what you would like in my listings, want a piece of jewelry in a different metal, would like a different chain, etc.

I am normally in my office/studio M-F from 9:30-5:30pm EST and again around 8pm to finish up any paperwork and communications. I will generally answer any conversations or e-mails within a few hours, but there may be a longer delay if I am involved in a complex or messy project or if you message me during non-office hours.

SALES TAX

I am proudly based in Virginia and must collect Virginia and County Sales Taxes (6%) on orders originating in Virginia.
Shipping
I will ship only to the address that you supply upon checkout. We can correct a small typo (such as transposing two numbers in a street address), but the order will need to be cancelled and then repurchased if you need an entirely different address.

USA

Items shipped to domestic addresses are shipped USPS First Class Parcel unless otherwise specified or the customer purchases a Priority shipping upgrade. If you would like a different shipping method (FedEx, UPS, or USPS Express/Overnight), please contact me before ordering so I can make you a custom listing with the proper shipping information. Tracking info is sent with the Etsy shipping notice.

During the holiday season, actual transit times for packages may increase although the processing time for orders does not. Please keep this in mind and allow extra time for packages to reach their destination in December and around Valentine's and Mother's Day.

INTERNATIONAL

International packages are shipped via USPS First-Class Package International Service whenever possible. International shipping may also take a extra 2-4 weeks depending on the country and customs department, so if you are ordering for a holiday or gift please take the extra processing time into account.

International customers are responsible for any customs fees, domestic taxes, or other fees incurred. The shipping cost you pay at checkout is for the shipping label itself and packaging materials.
Refunds and Exchanges
CANCELLATIONS

I will accept cancellations for a full refund within 24 hours of your purchase. I am happy to answer questions, provide samples or discuss options before you order.

REFUNDS and REPLACEMENTS

If you have received the wrong item, please contact me right away so I can reship the corrected order. You do not need to ship the incorrect order back.

I will replace items that have a defect I did not notice before shipping if you send me pictures of the damaged product within seven (7) days after the package is marked as delivered. ** Slight stamp misalignment, tool artifacts, or slight discrepancies in coloring are NOT defects, but merely part of the process of handmade jewelry. Items marked AS-IS in the description are exempt from replacements **

I will replace items that were damaged in transit if you send me pictures of the damaged product AND the damaged packaging within three (3) days after the package is marked as delivered.

**Refunds will only be issued in the even I cannot make a replacement or I guaranteed the item to arrive by a certain date**

RETURNS and EXCHANGES

I do not accept returns on CUSTOM or MADE-TO-ORDER items. If the item is damaged or defective, please see the replacement policy above.

I accept returns on READY-TO-SHIP items, but refunds are on the purchase price of the item only. You have 5 business days to notify me that you intend to return the item (EU based customers have 14 days).

I do not allow exchanges.

MISSING AND DELAYED PACKAGES

- USA -

I get USPS tracking on all shipments and send it with the Etsy shipping notice.

If the USPS has not marked the package as delivered, I will follow up with the postal service and wait five (5) business days to allow them time to locate the package. I highly suggest the customer contact their local post office as well. If the USPS cannot locate the package or determines that the package has been destroyed, I will create a replacement item for you.

If the USPS marked the package as delivered, you must contact your local post office to locate the package. I am not responsible for mail theft, USPS error or Mail Carrier misconduct and you must discuss the issue with your local post office or police department as appropriate. I am happy to provide information to the USPS or police if you need my assistance filling out the appropriate paperwork.


- INTERNATIONAL-

Tracking is not universally available across all international borders.

You are responsible for contacting your local customs or mail service if a package is not delivered in a timely manner. I will replace or refund a package if you provide proof that your package was destroyed or declared lost by your local postal service.

Shipping labels use exactly what is entered by the customer, so please double-check your address and other information before completing your purchase. I am not responsible for customer error in the address.

In the event that the package could not be delivered due to the customer error, the customer can opt to pay for a replacement shipping label to have the item shipped out again or they can opt to have the item price refunded.

I reserve the right to refuse any custom order or customization on items. I believe very strongly in equality and social justice and will refuse, cancel and refund any orders that promote intolerance or hatred.


FAQ:

Do you make the parasols yourself?
I paint the parasols myself and add other embellishments. I purchase the parasol base at retail.

Where do you buy your (X)?
I do not answer these types of questions.

Can you do a shipment of X parasols for a wedding?
That really depends on how much time you give me and how much money you are willing to spend. I need at least 1 week for every 5 painted parasols you request. So if you want 50 parasols, you need to request a custom order at least 3 months before your wedding.
