    Please note:

Dyeing is an art, and not an exact science, and the nature of the dye process is such that no two pieces are ever *exactly* alike. I use dedicated recipes for colorways unless specified as one of a kind, but please remember when ordering that color variations are a part of the beauty of the dyeing process and should be expected.

A few tips for working with hand-dyed yarn:

When knitting or crocheting large projects with hand-dyed yarns, it is recommended to alternate skeins every few rows to ensure even color distribution.

Have a specific project in mind that requires more yarn than what is offered in stock? No problem!

Unless otherwise noted, all BCFA colorways are available for custom order in the amount needed for your project. This helps reduce possible variations among dye lots.

All orders must be paid in full before work begins, and there are no refunds on custom items.
I accept PayPal and Etsy Direct Checkout . Please pay within 24 hours of purchasing unless prior arrangements have been made. Orders not paid for within 24 hours are subject to being canceled and re-listed.
All items are shipped via USPS within 3 business days, unless otherwise specified. Please contact me for an adjusted shipping total if you would like to add shipping insurance.

International customers, please be advised that you are responsible for all duty and customs fees associated with your purchase. Thank you for understanding.

I use only professional dyes and detergents for my creations. I will not settle for lower quality materials and neither should you.

I dye primarily using a resist based technique called Low Water Immersion, which creates a nice crackling effect. I can also do solid color dyeing and tie-dye as well.

Dyeing is an art, and not an exact science, and the nature of the dye process is such that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. I can use similar colors from past creations, but please remember this when ordering.

All orders must be paid in full before work begins, and there are no refunds on custom items.

I will work with you to find the perfect color combination to suit your items. You may choose from any of the dye colors that I have on hand, or select a color for me to order, at an additional cost.
Please be aware that items dyed multiple colors will have some blending, so, for example, using blue and orange together will give you some brown, yellow and red will give you some orange, etc.

I can only dye items made from plant-based (cellulose) or animal fibers (protein) such as cotton, hemp, bamboo, silk, and wool. Synthetic fibers do not take dye, so if your item is a blend of these, the dominant fiber needs to be natural.

I am more than happy to dye items that you already own- clothing, diapers, fabric, yarn and just about any other item you can think of.

My prices for this vary, depending on fiber content, size and type of dyeing requested. I charge a minimum of $5 for any item sent to me to dye, this is to cover the cost of dyes and water and electricity needed. There are certain fabrics that take more dye than others, and will be priced accordingly.

When done properly, the dyeing process adds very little wear to an item, not more than a few extra washes. This goes for clothing, diapers, and textiles.
I am not responsible for the workmanship of these items, only the colors. Please be aware that dyeing is considered an aftermarket addition, and may void the warranty given by the manufacturer. It is your responsibility to read and review those policies and make the decision for yourself.
I prefer to only dye items in new or very excellent used condition, as newer fabrics take dyes better
