About

It all started with a bead and wire

I began making jewelry by just stringing on wire crimp and clasp. I quickly wanted to learn more and took every class I could afford. Now I teach those classes.
My Etsy site is mainly to give buyers that I meet at shows a way to buy my jewelry. I travel a lot in the show circuit and sell my work in several stores and galleries in NC. Etsy has provided me with opportunities for putting my work out there. I have been invited to shows from people seeing my work and was able to skip the entire application process.
My work continues to branch out in new materials. I get bored quickly so I'm always looking for new components . I incorporate them by soldering with lead free solder, fusing, rivets , eyelets, and wire wrapping. Whatever works .
I never want to stop being curious about the things around me. I don't like the idea of being branded but unfortunately it is necessary in the business of shows and getting in them. This year I revamped my booth so it has a "Look" . It was a good move and I don't feel like I sold out. When coming up with this, a friend asked "what do you want your work to say about you"
I said " A fairy flew in the window of an old lady's house and stole things off her dresser and collected things from nature. She took them back up to her tree top home and made beautiful things from them. That is what Bijou Savvy is.
