Stunning earrings! There was a shipping issue, but Amber was on it, she really worked with me to resolve it as quickly as possible. And although the shipping issue caused a delay, the earrings are so amazing that they're well worth the wait. I'm impressed with Amber's skill as an artisan, and her integrity and professionalism as a business person. Can't recommend highly enough!

After the hiccups regarding V.A.T, etc. Despite that these earrings are gorgeous. Very comfortable to wear. Nice size and weight. Very tactile too. Thank you.

Bijoutiful in a Nutshell...

"I try to leave as small a footprint on this planet as possible, and have to feel good about what I do," says Barbadian born metalsmith jeweler Amber Yearwood, whose commitment to an environmentally and socially responsible lifestyle carries over to each aspect of her work. Jewelry is a "dirty" business, from destructive mining for metal and stone, to the harsh chemicals and cleaners often used by jewelers in the fabrication process. Not only does Amber personally source her materials from sustainable businesses using recycled precious metals, ethically mined and cut stones, as well as vintage, antique and found metal components, about 95% of her creation process is eco-friendly as well. She strives to use only natural solutions to clean and age her metal, and post-consumer recycled paper for her packaging and marketing materials. True to the "local" movement, each piece is designed, fabricated, finished and packaged by Amber herself in her studio located in Dallas, Texas. For now, Bijoutiful is a true "one woman show". In the future, Amber expects to only hire help for her online presence.

"The first thing I think about when designing a new piece is 'Would I want to wear this myself?'". Amber is personally drawn to intricate patterns and the ornate, having been smitten with ancient cultures and civilizations and all things antique and sparkly from a very young age. Her designs are driven by this passion, often looking to archetypal ethnic motifs, antique wrought iron, art nouveau scrollwork, as well as nature itself for inspiration. Marrying these influences with contemporary appeal, she creates eclectic pieces that evoke times gone by, yet with a modern touch.

When it comes to techniques and mediums, Amber is a "Jane of all trades", so to speak. She uses both traditional and contemporary metalsmithing/goldsmithing techniques, such as the following:

Piercing, saw/fretwork
Torch and kiln-fired vitreous glass enamel
Patinas and oxidation
Wire-wrapping & Beading
Texturing by way of hammers and other handtools
Forging & Fold-forming
Rolling Mill operations (embossing, making wire and sheet)
Stamping (for personalization)
Metal Clay
Polymer Clay (faux stones such as Amber and Turquoise)

In her spare time, Amber enjoys a multitude of things such as reading, cooking, gardening, staying in the sea back home in Barbados for so long that her fingers "prune up", playing with and training her 2 lab mix pups, taking road trips with said pups and the love of her life, getting lost in dusty "Mom and Pop" thrift stores, as well as practicing her aim at the range with her 9mm Glock and other various firearms. She strongly believes in educated and responsible gun ownership, one's inherent right to self defense of person and property, and though she tows no party line, she lives by the Libertarian adage of "harm no one."

My love for making jewelry started when I was very young, after a friend of my Mother's gave me a box of various beads from around the world. Some were antique and vintage even then, and this was in the early 90s. It's been all uphill since then!

Hello, and welcome to Bijoutiful on Etsy! Take a scroll, you might just find that special something you're looking for...or something you didn't know you need.

All orders arrive in a natural brown cotton-filled gift box, tied with an organza ribbon, perfect for giving as a gift to someone else, or yourself! If giving as a gift, you can slide the ribbon off & back on for your pre-gifting inspection. *Please note that if you wish items to be individually wrapped, you must contact me prior to payment. I do charge just a little extra for this service.

Not sure of your ring size? There's a ring sizer available with free shipping--and your future ring order will also ship free! We ask that you be SURE of your ring size prior to ordering, as we do charge a resize fee... Sizing up doesn't involve quite the amount of time & labor that sizing down does, and some rings (such as those with stones) just cannot be sized down. Instead, they need to be made all over again. So before you order, please know your ring size!

All of my raw metals (wire, sheet, etc.) are recycled/reclaimed metal, and I RARELY use any harsh chemicals during the fabrication process. Better for you, and better for the environment...and my conscience.

"Ready to Ship" items usually ship the next business day after payment has cleared, and no later than 5 business days when my schedule is full. Made-to-order items can sometimes take as much as 2 weeks before shipping, depending upon the item, time of year, payment type, and production schedule, but 3-5 days is the norm. All domestic (U.S.) shipping is now done via USPS First Class, Priority Mail, or Priority Express--all with tracking. If you wish to insure First Class packages, please contact me for a quote.

U.S. orders of $75 or more will be insured automatically. If you believe your insured package has been lost, or if it arrived damaged, please contact me immediately with the date of the purchase, as well as your telephone number, as I may need it in order to fill out an insurance claim with the Post Office. I take great effort to package my Bijoutiful jewelery carefully, but if somehow damaged upon arrival, return the item to me as it was received within 5 days, and I will fix it or send a replacement. If you wish to insure an order UNDER $50, please contact me PRIOR to sending payment.

Shipping internationally may cause your package to attract fees or duties when delivered, as I will not falsify customs forms. These fees are the responsibility of the buyer. Please also understand that it is the buyer's responsibility to know their country's custom regulations, as I will not be held accountable for items lost by the U.S. Postal Service, items seized by customs or for customs fees.

Sorry, but I do not ship to Italy.

To reiterate:

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.

These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

I DO NOT EVER intentionally mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior, so please do not ask me to break the law.

Once you have received your package and are happy, please take a moment to leave feedback. Please contact us if there is a problem with your item before you leave feedback.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you believe your item is somehow defective or flawed, please contact me within 3 days of receipt and I will work with you to resolve the problem.

Custom orders, rings made to your size specs, reserved items and sale items are not refundable or returnable, and sales on all earrings and "body jewelry" are final due to hygienic purposes.

Returns and exchanges on all other jewelery however, will be considered and handled on a case by case basis.

I exchange only for an item of equal value, return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and only in the event of manufacturer's defect with reasonable use and wear. While most items are made for intended daily wear, there are some items that can be dangerous if not worn and handled with care. All such listings are clearly stated. For instance, if your pearls were destroyed by harsh cleaners, you've been playing volleyball or practicing Tae Kwon Do with your cocktail ring on, you've been bending and re bending your ear hooks or cuff & it's suddenly broken in half 3 months after purchase, or your children have been playing tug-of-war with your exchange will not be considered, but instead, perhaps a repair or replacement at your expense.

I take every precaution possible in order to ensure a safe delivery of goods. Most items are shipped in a box within a bubble envelope, but larger orders and certain cuffs are shipped in a small box. If an item arrives damaged, please contact me immediately, so that any PayPal or insurance procedures can be followed properly in order to protect us both.

If you believe your order was damaged in transit, it is important that you DO NOT throw out the shipping envelope or box. It is the Post office's policy that the customer has to present the items, packaging and claim forms. Post sale, if there is a problem, I will need to send my half of the form to you. This is now my procedure to protect against lost packages.

I ask that you be SURE of your ring size prior to ordering, as I do charge a resize fee! Sizing up doesn't involve the time & labor that sizing down does, and some rings (such as those with stones) just cannot be sized down. Instead, they need to be made all over again, in which case, the fee would be much greater. So before you order, know your ring size!

Also, please be aware that since I am a self-taught metalsmith jeweler, I make each item myself by hand. Therefore, all items will vary slightly from those shown in pictures, and some tool marks or pooled solder is often seen on my work. I do not consider these minor flaws to be defects, as it distinguishes between handmade and commercial machine made jewelry. That is the nature of Amber's work, and what's so great about buying handmade!

I expect you to read all information that is given to you prior to placing an order with us

I will repair anything you manage to break for a nominal fee, and will make repairs on my work for the life of the jewelry. Please contact me if you have a problem.

My work is NOT to be copied or altered in any way by anyone.

PLEASE NOTE that ALL EARWIRES/HOOKS and CUFFS/WRAPS are NOT made to be bent repeatedly! All cuffs are made to size so that just a gentle squeeze is needed for a close fit. Should you return a broken cuff, please expect to pay the full amount for a duplicate to be made if the base (usually in sterling) itself has snapped. If the charm or decorative component has come off, then it will be repaired free of charge because it means that my join was imperfect. Mistakes do happen, and I expect you to be understanding during such circumstances. I want you to love your jewelry, and will make every effort to ensure this is the end result.
