Welcome to Bilberry and Birch
Bilberry and Birch is based in Northumberland, in the north east of England.
It's a beautiful, wild part of the country, with very varied landscapes, from the dramatic coastline to remote moorland, from wildflower meadows to mysterious forests. These landscapes are the inspiration for my jewellery collections.
Making jewellery used to be a hobby, but it's now become something of a full-time occupation. I work mainly with silver, copper, sea glass & ceramic, and semi-precious stones, using traditional methods and techniques. Each piece of jewellery from Bilberry and Birch is individually made by hand. No two pieces are ever quite identical, and many of my designs are one-offs.
I'm very interested in the mythology that surrounds the natural world, and my designs often have a symbolic meaning based on the subject that inspired them, and the materials that I use.
You can find out more about the inspiration behind my designs by following me on my blog, and on social media.

Frequently asked questions
Dispatch Times
I currently dispatch orders within 3-5 working days, in order to minimise my visits to the Post Office. Some made to order items take slightly longer, and dispatch within 1-2 weeks.
I sometime have to vary these times during busy periods, so please be sure to check carefully when you order, especially if you need your item by a set date.
Issues with your order
Please contact me as soon as possible via Etsy conversations if you have any issues or concerns with your order. I'll always do my best to sort things out for you.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Unless otherwise stated, all items are wrapped in tissue paper and packaged in small jewellery boxes made from recycled card, tied with a ribbon.
I am happy to gift wrap your purchase, for a small charge. If your gift is dispatched direct to the recipient, I can add a gift tag with a personal note from you.
Shipping address
Please be aware that I take your shipping address directly from Etsy, so be sure to check that the address you provide is correct before placing your order. I'm afraid I cannot be responsible for packages which go missing where an incorrect or invalid address has been provided.
Sizing details
I do my best to ensure that you are able to get a good idea of the size of my pieces, by providing measurements in the item description, and a photograph which includes other items for scale.
If you are in any doubt at all, please get in touch with me before ordering, and I can provide further details and/or photographs.
If you receive an item, and you have totally misjudged the size, I am happy to refund or exchange, subject to the terms and conditions set out under my shop policies.
Shipping
The majority of my orders are dispatched using tracked and signed for shipping services. This means that you can follow the progress of your order once it has been dispatched. Within the UK, your order should arrive the day after it ships.
There are some exceptions, which are sent using First Class Signed For. These will take a little longer to arrive. This will be made clear within the individual listing, and you will be offered the opportunity to purchase a shipping upgrade.
I'm afraid that once an item is dispatched, the delivery time is out of my hands. The times stated are an average, based on experience, but they are not a guarantee. Delivery make take longer depending on customs, local postal services, and the time of year.
