About

hand crafted in austin, texas.

My name is Claire Marie and I am a hand crafter at heart. Growing up with a stay-at-home artist of a Mom, every day of my childhood involved a new art project. Today, we're going to do paper maché! Today, we're going to make clay pots! My mother was incredibly inspiring and educated my sister and I on various mediums over the years - from leather stamping to water color. Creativity nestled deep in my bones at that early age.
Through high school and college I continued to craft - from hand made birthday cards to decopaged boxes. My friends were always appalled when I turned down a night on the town to instead sit on my big green comforter with the windows open to have craft night... by myself.
After college, I went through a phase I like to call "break out-freak out." I still consider myself a little bit in this phase, but it is that period where the real world hits you hard and you lose your spirited and defined direction that they nurtured in college. It took about a year of people asking me, "If money were not an issue, what would you DO?" for me to realize a trend. My answer was always automatic. Stay home and craft all day, of course! And there she blows. My career path. It is a long process, and things always move slower than you imagine. But alas, my Etsy shop has been born, and here it will continue to grow!
