About

Welcome...

My name is Whitney, and I guess if I'm really truthful about how my shop started, I'd have to take you back in time to my 2nd grade classroom where I colored custom bookmarks and macramed friendships bracelets for my classmates for quarters. I was a self taught jewelry maker from a young age, using whatever medium materials and tools I could get my hands on, and I continued into high school selling jewelry with our school mascot on it to my teachers. In middle school I developed a taste for photography, and borrowed my parents' camera for photo shoot excursions. I saved up for my first digital camera then took off, literally and figuratively, traveling the country, shooting anything and everything I could just for the fun of it and the knowledge gained of the world of photography. In college, I double majored in Fine Arts and Art Education, where I studied and/or taught drawing, painting, film and digital photography, graphic design, ceramic wheel throwing and sculpting, woodworking, mixed media sculpting, and creative writing. I've spent my entire life on stage in the performing arts, including all forms of dance, color guard, circus, theater, chorus, band, figure modeling, and fashion modeling. I also work for other artists in both production and the business side of things. Currently I work in fashion design and sewing for Accentuates Clothing. I also belong to a collective of artists and help run a small brick and mortar shop where we sell our work. I love sharing my skills and opportunities to help other artists and the creative community thrive. I'm settled in Asheville, North Carolina, where you can find my art in several local shops or come see me at one of my burlesque performances!

I've added a collection of vintage clothing and homegoods to my shop. I am not a resale business person; rather, every item here was once a piece I lovingly owned and wore or used. Now that it's time to pass these items out of my life, I want to share them with others who I know will truly love them as much as I did.

I am a one woman creator and shop owner, so everything here is a reflection of my own artistic inspirations. I work in my in-home studio room. In life my inspirations are nature, environmental stewardship, exploration, community, the idea of peace, the many faces of love, all things morbid, decay, playing in the darkness, soaking in the sun, understated beauty, metaphors, my sleeping dreams and my waking fantasies. I do art because sometimes I feel as though I am just a vessel for creations that want to be born, and because I believe in the Rumi quote "Let the beauty of what you love be what you do." I am grateful that my art is something I can share that brings happiness to others. I hope you
ENJOY!!!!!
