bittersweetdesign's Shop Policies
I have had my earth bound shop for 19 years and many of my customers have become good friends. I have a varied and unique collection of items in my shop, from handmade to vintage and antique. I have now separated my vintage items from my handmade - please see my shop Missing Heirloom for all of my vintage items.
Also - keep in mind I do have a brick and mortar shop - there will be times when items will disappear from my Etsy shelves and not appear in the sold area - this is because I have had to make them inactive, or deleted them - (if they were one of a kind) because they have sold out of my shop. Please convo me if there was something that you saw and couldn't live without!
Payment is expected immediately upon checkout, if this is not done, the item will be relisted and the current sale cancelled.I accept all forms of payment - however, items will be held until payment clears. Please convo me if you plan on paying by anything other than paypal or a credit card through paypal.
If you reside in the state of Virginia I have to include 5% sales tax.
I am happy to reserve a listing for you and/or take a deposit on an item for 'layaway'. Reserving a listing for any period of time will typically require a deposit - of which I can send you a bill for you to pay through Paypal.

DEC22 - DEC 23 - expedited shipping only! Please contact me and we will make arrangements.
Please know that I will refund any egredgious excesses in shipping costs.
Upon cleared payment your item(s) will be shipped immediately - unless I convo you and tell you otherwise. For custom orders, I will also let you know when to expect shipment.
The majority of my vintage items, as well as some of my handmade items are shipped by priority mail with delivery confirmation and insurance. If you have specific questions regarding shipping costs on an item - please convo me!
International Customers - Please do not ask me to mark your packages with other than what they are - item-wise or price-wise. I do not intend to do anything illegal regarding shipping overseas. Also - I am more than happy to ship anything anywhere - If you see something in my shop - I will be more than happy to get a shipping estimate on that item for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
I have been in business since 1990 - doing hundreds of juried shows, craft fairs, vetted antique shows, and flea markets, also I opened my shop 19 years ago - and I have never had an item returned. I strive to describe everything as thoroughly as possible, to represent it as honestly as possible, and to craft it as impeccably as possible.
Please know that communication is key - If you have a problem, then it is my problem too!
I am confident that the items I sell are what they are represented to be. Therefore I encourage questions & concerns prior to the purchase so there is no buyer's remorse.
Returns will negotiated on a case by case basis. At most returns will be accepted for store credit only.
Obviously, your satisfaction is my utmost desire - please convo me if there are any problems and I will be happy to resolve any issues.
Additional Policies and FAQs
All of my items are ready to ship from Bittersweet immediately upon payment. What you see in the photo is exactly what you will be purchasing. I do not have stock photos, where you buy an item and then it is made to order. All of my products leave Bittersweet Design Studio lovingly packaged - please let me know if your item needs special attention of some sort - such as gift wrapping, an enclosed note - whatever - I'll be happy to help!
