Black Angel in the White City
Black Angel Designs started quite by accident. I didn't set out to be an artist. (In fact, I kind of giggle when I'm called that as I can't draw a straight line.) But I love to create and luckily, graphic design allows me to do that in my day job as a Director of Marketing. So using those skills and a process I had previously learned on Pintrest, I only set out to make a few kitchen signs to sell with our hot sauce business, Black Angel Saucery, at Chicago street fests.
People seemed to like them, so I added a few more designs. Being in the greatest city on earth gave me more inspiration as I added new products based on the rich history, sports and traditions of Chicago. Then came the sassy home decor. ( I can't cook so its really the only way I could contribute in the kitchen). And the coasters. And the industrial modern furniture.
Seriously, there are so many things I want to make, but so little time. (And the production process takes a bit longer with 3 small children climbing on you.) Fortunately, my husband Graig is a huge help in production and the creative process.
I love the challenge of coming up with new designs and the slow process of making the signs and coasters can be a great escape from our hectic lives. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it for you.
