Product Safety

Blackapple Bodysilc is crafted from skin-safe platinum silicone and natural mineral powder. Though allergic reaction is extremely rare, wearer assumes all risk with the use of this product.

We’re exposed to silicone all the time. It’s used in household products such as polishes, hand lotions, soaps, processed food, chewing gum, bake ware and kitchen utensils. Breast implants are made from silicone and even injection needles are coated with it for easy passage into the skin.

Silicone is becoming increasingly popular in the special effects industry for props and prosthetics. In fact the prosthetics used to create the character Mystique for the X-Men movies were crafted in self-adhesive silicone and were adhered directly to the actress’s skin.

You may observe a very slight oil residue from your silc. This is normal for the grade of silicone and is similar to the silicone oil used to coat injection needles as mentioned above. It is safe and poses no health risk :)

Each design has no less than a seven step process and often more. I invest great attention to each piece but they are handmade and as such, there may be slight anomalies and colors may vary.

Instructions and Care

For topical use only. Excessive perspiration, movement or friction with garments may dislodge your silc. Do not stretch, twist or puncture your silc. It will last when treated with care.

Apply clean silc to clean, dry skin. Set lightly on skin while finding desired placement, then press firmly from the center outward to help push out any trapped air. If edges lift while wearing, simply press them back down. Smudges and fingerprints can be polished softly from gloss surface with a lint-free polishing cloth. Do not buff gloss surface too hard or it will be scratched and become cloudy.

You may wish to wipe skin with alcohol or non-residue toner before application for better adhesion. Do not wear on irritated or broken skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Do not sleep in or leave silc on skin longer than eight hours as skin may become oxygen deprived.

Do not expose adhesive side to sand, crumbs or other grainy particles as they may become embedded and cause damage. If you do get large particles on the adhesive side, carefully pluck off with tweezers. To clean silc and restore adhesive properties, hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Do not use bristles as adhesive layer may be damaged. Air dry with adhesive side up on a paper towel or other lint free cloth. Store on provided plastic sheet in the envelope or in a ziplock bag.
