About Blackbird Tees

We're Jody and Karl, the duo behind Blackbird Tees. Since 2008, we've been hand printing our original designs on to t-shirts, specialty tees, sweatshirts and tea towels. Nearly a decade later, we've grown enough to support 2 full-time employees. And in today's world, we consider that a small business victory!

We're completely self taught, and we put an enormous amount of thought into the design, printing, and photography of each item. Our current collection is inspired by the open road, adventure, the great outdoors, and nights spent sleeping under the stars. Thanks to the help of our photographer Meagan Abell, and our model Leney Breeden, we're able to bring it all to life and share the things we love most.

THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT OUR SHOP:

➤ Garment sizing can vary dramatically across different styles, so please take the time to check the sizing charts carefully. They can be found within the images section of each listing. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.

➤ All of our original designs are hand printed by the two of us, and each step of our manufacturing process takes place locally at our warehouse in Richmond, VA.

➤ All of our raw goods are ethically manufactured and sourced from American-based companies.

➤ Our shipping envelopes and packaging materials are made in the USA and are constructed from 100% recycled content.

➤ ALL orders are insured against loss or damage. Please see the "Shipping" section in our shop policies for additional details.

We currently accept payments through Etsy Direct Checkout, which includes most major credit cards as well as Paypal payments.
Shipping
➤ ALL CUSTOMERS:

Our general processing time, unless otherwise stated within an individual listing, is 1-3 business days. Please keep in mind that this is in addition to the shipping times listed below.

All orders are insured against loss or damage. The required wait time to process a claim is 21 days from the original purchase date (45 days for international customers). Once the wait time has passed, you'll be required to fill out a brief online form via e-mail (and provide an electronic signature) to complete the process. We will then issue your refund in full.

If you have any questions related to shipping and/or delivery times we highly recommend you contact us BEFORE you make your purchase.

➤ DOMESTIC (US):

All shipping rates are calculated based on item weight and destination. Multiple shipping options are available at checkout. Our default shipping method is USPS First Class service, which averages 3-5 business days. Priority Shipping is slightly quicker at 2-3 business days. Please keep in mind that these are US Postal service estimates--not guarantees. The only guaranteed USPS service is Priority Express. Shipping time for this expedited service is 1-2 business days. Cost starts at $22 (for a single item) and varies depending on item weight and shipping destination.

➤ INTERNATIONAL:

International orders are shipped via USPS First Class Airmail with insurance. Depending on the destination, international packages can take anywhere from 3-5 weeks to arrive, but the vast majority arrive within 8-15 business days. Unfortunately, we cannot make any ship time guarantees for international deliveries.

Please take into account that items may be held for additional import/VAT fees in your country of residence. These fees are separate from your purchase with us, and it is your responsibility to pay them. Claiming a lower value or marking the parcel as a "gift" (even if you're purchasing items for someone else) to avoid these fees is illegal, so please do not ask us to do so.

Please note that our shipping charge only covers the cost to ship and insure your items. It does not cover any additional brokerage fees and/or import taxes you may incur.

Refunds and Exchanges
If you are for ANY reason unhappy with your purchase, or if you require a different size or style, we welcome both returns and exchanges (on non-custom made, non-closeout items). To qualify for either, your items must meet the below criteria:

1. You must contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.
2. Items are in their *ORIGINAL* selling condition, showing absolutely no signs of wear and tear.
3. Items are completely free of all odors, including but not limited to perfume, cologne, cigarette smoke, and pet odors/pet hair.

If we receive return/exchange items that don't meet the above guidelines, the offer to exchange or refund your original purchase may be voided. Feel free to contact us here on Etsy or via e-mail (hello@blackbirdtees.com) with any additional questions relating to returns and exchanges.

PLEASE NOTE:

All "CLOSEOUT" items are FINAL SALE only. We do not accept returns or exchanges on these items.

We do not accept returns on custom orders or custom-made items. However, if you receive your order and have any concerns, please get in touch and we will do our best to work out a solution with you.
