The necklace is well-made and exactly as described! I just love the blackened silver finish; it pairs well with many antique pieces I wear daily. The cherry on top of it all was the packaging! So thoughtful and beautiful. Thanks so much!

About

Mad Science to Metalsmithing.

For most of my adult life, I poured myself into pursuing a college education in Forensic Science and Anthropology. The time and energy needed to accomplish things in such a field meant I had to snuff out all thoughts of creative endeavors. I didn't have the mental fortitude left over to do anything I enjoyed at the end of the day. I was nearing the end of my education when I had a startling epiphany: I didn't even enjoy what I had been working so hard for anymore. As someone who grew up immersed in a culture of art, talent and live music, I didn't recognize myself. I had previously been a painter, a makeup artist, a modern art junkie, and someone who spent more time than not at a live music venue. I had become a science-brained zombie who didn't even remember what I liked to do. It was at this time that I was on the cusp of a major life upheaval. Another move to another city. I was used to this bouncing around, but was in need of even larger change. I made the choice to try something I had always been interested in rather than to focus on Forensics, and that was silversmithing. I signed up for those classes instead of university classes and from the first day, I was hooked. After my classes were over, I spent the next year feverishly tinkering and learning anything I could from jewelers and reputable sources online. I worked to understand the scientific practices involved in my new craft, so that I could educate myself on metallurgy and the natural creation of minerals and precious stones. A life long learner, educating myself for this new journey has been half of the fun.

Today I take my cues from the same things I enjoyed before, but with renewed fervor. My pieces are inspired by the dark and light, surrealist art, ancient history, Baroque and Victorian antiques, the occult, and a varied taste in music. I have not limited my endeavors or my brand to jewelry, as I also enjoy sculpture, scent, ambience, and interior design. Additionally, I had always found it difficult to find accessories, scents and decor items in traditional or high-end retailers, that appealed to my sensibilities. I prefer my surroundings to be odd, yet viscerally pleasing. If I can satisfy a similar quest for those visiting my shop, my goal is achieved.

My aim is to deliver unique, well executed goods that will make you feel as if they were made specifically with you in mind. All pieces are available in limited quantities to keep that vision alive. If you are seeking a one-of-a-kind or custom creation, look no further! Commissions are welcome! :)

As a huge proponent for making your own success, always be your own advocate. Alway strive for positive progress. This philosophy is a driving factor in my work, my pieces and my life. Let them inspire you to do the same. Keep moving forward, regardless of life's storms.

Additional policies and FAQs
Sizing

If you have ordered a ring, please know your size before completing your order. Because most items are made to order, it is important for you to know this beforehand. Custom items and made to order pieces are one of a kind or one of few, so they may not be able to be returned if the wrong size is ordered. Please keep this in mind while shopping.

Patinas

Patinas are unique finishes added to change the color or appearance of an item. They mainly darken silver, or provide an antique finish. These applications are not permanent and can wear off or darken over time. A special wax is applied to preserve your piece and keep it looking like the day you received it. This however, is a temporary coating. These pieces also should not be aggressively polished, for the finish will come off. If your patina wears off from normal wear, we can arrange a recoating or cleaning for a nominal fee.

Packaging

Each package is lovingly packed just for you by hand. If the item you ordered is silver, you will receive it in a velvet bag with a peculiar black vinyl square inside it. This is a charcoal paper that absorbs impurities and will keep your silver from tarnishing for up to a year! Keep it in this bag when not worn.
