Remember! Black opals are Australian. Some sellers sell treated Ethiopian opal as black opal and though beautiful, they are NOT black opal. If your opal cannot get wet, it's not a black opal. Just a note to help when shopping around 😊

5 out of 5 starsThe ring is beautiful. The stone shines with the iridescence of Uranium glass when excited and the metalwork is excellent. Although the ring isn’t marked, I’m sure they will be as Black Lotus Opals business grows. They do great work.. All the attention to detail of a boutique with top quality throughout .. Thank you Malissa, we plan on ordering again.

5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely beautiful, due to the nature of opals the pictures will never do them justice. The ring is beautiful, I love it. The packaging was also lovely. I love the handwritten note included. Would recommend this seller to anyone.

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful piece, much bigger than I thought and the setting shows it off perfectly as it is designed to rotate as the wearer moves.
It was also gift wrapped wonderfully.
About BlackLotusOpals
Making beautiful opals affordable for all!
Hello! My name is Malissa and I'm the artist behind Black Lotus Opals. I've always loved opals and how unique and beautiful each stone is but sadly real opals are hard to come by or they are very, very expensive. When I was looking for opal jewelry for myself I found a lot of synthetic opal being sold as real opal, a lot of smoked Ethiopian opal being sold as black opal and on the rare occasion I found a really stunning opal it was way out of my price range.
I decided then that I would source my own opals and make my own jewlery.
I started out doing a lot of research and ordering opals direct from the mines while my husband learned to shape and polish them - along the way he found a passion in opals also. It is a labor of love to work with opals as each stone has days of labor invested into it just in shaping and polishing alone.
Our husband and wife hobby became something I wanted to share and Black Lotus Opals was born.
Now everyone can have a genuine, beautiful piece of wearable opal art at an affordable price.

I'm a wife & mom with 2 little ones. Making opal jewelry is a hobby I share with my husband who cuts & polishes all of my stones. We started this store because we have a love for opals & want to share their beauty with everyone. Thanks for looking!
