I am the Black Potter, maker of face jugs and functional pottery. The love of my life, Jan, takes care of the business end of things so I am free to be an artist. (Everyone should be so blessed," she says!)

We live and work in Weaverville, NC, where we moved in 2012 and built a pottery studio right on our property in 2017. (Yes, I am blessed!)

We welcome your visits, orders, questions, correspondence, and custom requests.

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges
Contact me within: 14 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 30 days of delivery
I don't accept cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
If your order arrives damaged, let us know immediately so we can process a claim and give you a refund. You must save the packaging and damaged piece for the rare occasion when a UPS or postal inspector needs to see it on your end.

We have never had a return, but if you are dissatisfied we will offer you a refund if you meet the following terms: Kindly inform us and repack the item the same way we shipped it to you. Pay the return shipping including insurance. Pottery is fragile so naturally we cannot be responsible for any breakage once you receive your order.

We double box all orders, use lots of packing material, and ship the most economical and safest method for your order, usually UPS or USPS, insured.
