Luxury handspun yarn, breed specific wools and handmade wearables to delight your inner artist.

I began my journey into fiber arts after an injury at work forced me into an early retirement. Had that not happened, I might never have discovered my love of fiber... so I am very grateful for the way things turned out. Always look for the silver lining... :)

I first taught myself to knit and crochet as a way of filling time and keeping myself busy. A few years later that love of knitting and crochet evolved into a desire to spin my own yarn, so I borrowed a few books from the library and taught myself to spin on an inexpensive wooden drop spindle. It wasn't long at all before I moved on to purchase my very first spinning wheel; a Lendrum single treadle that I have fondly named Lucille.

Since then, I've acquired an old Cowichan-style wheel (named Ruth, after my late grandmother) for spinning bulky art yarns, and a Babe e-spinner (Bertha) for plying larger skeins. Professional acid dyes have helped me further expand my knowledge by venturing into hand dyeing.

Later on, I started collecting looms and teaching myself to weave. First was a Kircher rigid heddle loom, then a Schact tapestry loom, and most recently a Leclerc floor loom which I am slowly getting to know. I may eventually share some of my woven items in the shop as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by my shop of handcrafted fiber goodies. I am pleased to share my creations with you, and I hope you find something you love. :)

Frequently asked questions
How do I use a Coupon Code?

After you have added an item to your cart, and before you check out, on the right hand side underneath the payment options, you will see a blue link that states "apply shop coupon code". Click this and a box will pop up where you can type in the code. Click "apply code", just below the box, and your discount will be shown. Then simply check out as usual.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have a coupon code, it MUST be entered during checkout. Please note that I cannot honor coupon codes after the transaction has been made (this includes coupon codes that are entered into the "notes" section of the transaction). Coupon codes are not valid towards the purchase of gift certificates or custom orders.

Yarn grist and weight information

For yarn weights, I use the defaults set by the Yarn Craft Council of America.

All my yarns use these categories and standards (keeping in mind that within each category there is a variety, for example, a yarn at 850 YPP is a Bulky weight (albeit on the lighter side), as Worsted weight yarns don't start until you reach 851 YPP. Please check each listing's yarn information to determine if it will be suitable for your needs. :)
