About

Dyeing yarn and fiber since 2008.

Dyeing started as a lark for me and a couple friends. It sounded like fun, and honestly, it seemed about a million other knitters were doing it so why not us?

My primary role is to support and nurture my family, something I take very seriously and have no problem doing rather than "being out there" as a careerist. Having a dyeing studio has become a natural extension of our family as we grow and my children become more independent. My creative outlet supports my family as well as my ongoing personal growth.

I can define myself by what I'm not as well as what I am, and I never call myself an artist - that is up to other people to judge. I do consider myself a painter, and I love watching how color comes to life in different ways depending on temperature, acidity, and what fiber has just gone into the pot. I love watching the change from raw to finished - wool specifically is such a graceful material with all it's personality and variability.

Ultimately, I love what I do. I'm in the business of enabling knitters, crocheters, spinners, felters, and weavers to create. My only ambition is to keep doing what I do for as long as it is fun and inspiring.

Sometimes I feel like a one man band: dye this, spin that, pack the kid's lunch, do laundry, pack an order, email!, social media, wake up early, go to bed late, re-skein yarn, bath time, wholesale packets, TNNA?, and so on. Bring it on!

Thank you for shopping locally and hand-made. Your patronage supports our ongoing efforts to provide excellent yarn while working in a safe and family-oriented environment.
Shipping
Free domestic shipping on all orders over $100 - use coupon code "Shipme" at checkout. Offer valid on orders totaling $100 before shipping but after any sales, and does not apply to raw (undyed) yarns.

Your order will usually ship in three to five business days of receipt of payment, unless otherwise noted in the individual listing. I generally don't ship on weekends.

All orders ship regular US Postal Service First Class or Priority mail. If you prefer to have something (especially large orders) shipped via UPS, contact me before you check out. I am not responsible for uninsured lost shipments or orders damaged by carriers or customs.
Refunds and Exchanges
We've all bought yarn over the internet that didn't turn out to be what we thought. If that is the case, please return your order for a full refund, minus shipping. Your return must be in its original condition (i.e. skeins unless it was sent to you otherwise), and that includes pet hair and odor free.

All devices reflect colors differently, so please keep that in mind while shopping.
Additional policies and FAQs
Hand-dyeing is a creative rather than a repetitive art, which makes it essential to buy enough yarn for your project ahead of time. If additional yarn is needed, please keep in mind that there may be significant differences between batches.

Under no circumstances will I share or sell any personal information, addresses or emails obtained from a transaction. I also expect the same respect from my customers.

I am not accepting new wholesale orders at this time.
