Our shipping partner ASENSIAUSA is still accepting shipments, but it is taking on average 1.5 months for packages to arrive to Australia. A love affair with Millinery, began in a Selfridge Boutique

Hi! I'm Blair, the designer, creative director and pretty much all things behind Blair Nadeau Bridal Adornments!

I always love knowing the story behind a brand, so I thought I'd share ours!

Back in 2008, I was working a pretty great job in the fashion industry and fairly fresh out of school (I went to Ryerson University for Fashion Design). I had the fortune of travelling around Europe with this particular position and one fateful day on my first trip to London England, we wondered into Selfridges on Oxford street. (This was before the royal wedding and before the word "fascinator" was a household word in North America). As we wandered through their FABULOUS shoe department and eating licorice pinwheels from the candy department (yum), I stumbled into this little boutique that was filled to the brim (ha..punny) of the most whimsical and fascinating (punny again...) headpieces and hats. I stopped dead in my tracks and thought...."this is what i'm going to do!". I had always wanted to be my own independent designer, but wasn't sure which path I wanted to walk down and there, in Selfridges, eating licorice, I discovered my path.

For a year, I taught myself everything I needed to know about feathers, sinamay, veiling, traditional millinery techniques and on April 21st 2009, our little millinery was born. Originally I started with fashion headpieces, as it was a time when feather headbands and fascinators were all the rage (thanks Will and Kate)...this continued for a few years until a friend was getting married and requested a feather headpiece and a birdcage veil. I made my first...then my second....and well, Blair Nadeau Bridal was born! Fast forward to 11 years later and our little millinery has blossomed into a beautiful bridal adornment business.

I absolutely adore what I do. Bridal makes me unbelievably happy. There is so much joy and happiness around this time in a person's life and I feel truly honored to be a part of it. It's a true honor when a bride asks me to be a part of one of the most special and important days of her life.
and....a little bit about me, the girl behind the brand.

My middle name is Victoria. I have the most adorable dog in the world...her name is Chanel and she's a little 12lb black Italian Greyhound. She's my heart, my light and my everything. I have an obsession with Cacti (i have about 32 live ones) and Dinosaurs (I wish I had a live one). My favourite colour is mustard and I adore mid century modern design mixed with southwest Arizona vibes. I'm a car girl, I was once VP of an all girls car tuning club, that's how I met my fiance. I love bacon, pancakes, and maple...i'm truly Canadian, that being said, I adore France and Mexico, they are my two favourite countries in the world and I will get married in one of them...I just can't decide yet. Speaking of which, I have an awesome Fiance, his name is Kyle and he's a pretty integral part of the business. He packs up most of the orders (he's so much better at wrapping then I am) and does the final quality control check to make sure everything is perfect before it ships out. So...that's me...in a nutshell...

Returns and exchange details
Although we do accept some items back within our return policy, these are the items that are NOT eligible for returns under any circumstance. Please be aware of these items prior to purchase.

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURNS:

• All Veils (including birdcage veils) & Juliet Veils due to their delicate nature
• Fascinators
• Earrings & Garters are final sale due to hygienic reasons.
• Shoulder Necklaces
• Back Necklaces & Non Adjustable Bracelets
• Crowns that are made non adjustable (a size that is chosen at checkout)
• Custom orders are final sale - no exceptions

RETURNS/EXCHANGES/REFUNDS: We do offer returns within 5 days of receipt on some items. If your item does not fall within the above list of non returnable items, we must be notified within 5 days of receipt of item for a return request. If a return is approved, Items must be unworn and shipped back to us with all tags and labels within 14 days of the return request. The return shipping is at the buyers expense. A refund of the item cost (not the original shipping) will be provided upon receipt of the item back to our studio in Canada. If the item has shown signs of wear, a refund will not be provide and the item will be shipped back at the buyer's expense.

RESTOCKING FEE: We charge a $10CAD restocking fee on any eligible return item. This will be deducted from the returned amount.

UNAUTHORIZED RETURNS: will be refused and set back to the buyer at their expense. USA orders CAN NOT be sent back to our USA freight forwarding address. These items will not be returned back to us for at least 6-8 weeks (if at all). Until we have the item in hand, we can not provide a refund. To ensure that the item is processed for return as quickly as possible, it must be sent back to our Canadian Address. We will discuss our guidelines for returning items to Canada upon return approval.

EXCHANGES: If an item is requested for return after our 5 days return grace period we may offer a straight exchange or store credit. This is at our discretion and on a per order basis. The exchanged item must be sent back in unworn condition and all return shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

INCORRECT SIZE ORDERED: If an incorrect size was ordered on one of our non-returnable sized options, for an additional fee, the item can be sent back to us and we will adjust the sizing for you (this applies to back necklaces and shoulder necklaces) Items such as as sashes/belts/crowns can not be resized due to the nature of how they are made. On these items we will offer exchange only with a 25% restocking fee applied.

BUY & TRY RETURNS: We do not allow "Buy & Tries. All of our items are handmade to order at the time of purchase and take many hours of skilled labour to create just for you. Please respect that we are artisans and not a retail store with ready made goods. If we suspect that a *buy and try* transaction has been made and a return is being attempted on one of the items, we will not allow or process the return.

ORDER CANCELLATIONS: If you wish to cancel your order before the item is handmade for you, then you will receive a full refund.
If you have changed your mind on your purchase and wish to cancel your order AFTER the item has been handmade for you, then there will be a 25% restocking fee incurred. This will be deducted from your refund.
Payment
We currently accept Paypal, Etsy Gift Cards and Direct Checkout via Credit Cards. Please note that Ontario Residents must pay 13% HST and all other Canadian Residents must pay the sales tax rate of their province.

We are required by state law as well to collect taxes for countries/states that require online sales tax collection. These are collected and paid by Etsy on our behalf.
Shipping
CANADA SHIPPING: All items shipped throughout Canada are shipped via Canada Post OR Chit Chats Express out of Brampton Ontario depending on the service selected. This shipping method takes approximately 2-8 business days depending on the receivers proximity to Toronto.
Please note that we have to average shipping costs throughout the country as Canada Post does not offer a flat rate shipping option. We refund excess shipping over $2.00 for locations that cost less then the average shipping cost.
Standard Shipping within Canada is shipped via Chit Chats (a 3rd party carrier that partners with Canada Post - delivery is approximately 1-2 days longer but allows us to offer lower shipping costs). Xpress Post/Priority Shipping within Canada is shipped directly with Canada Post for fastest service. All items shipped within Canada is insured for up to $400 in value

CANADA PUROLATOR SHIPPING - We are proud to offer NEXT DAY Purolator shipping throughout Canada (Next day to most major locations, 2 day to remote locations). Please contact us for Rates if you require next day rush shipping.

USA SHIPPING: All items shipped to the United States are shipped via USPS with up to $300 insurance via USPS (United States Postal Service) from Niagara Falls NY. This shipping methods takes 3-5 business days for first class (smaller packages) with full insurance and tracking.

In addition, we offer Priority Shipping 2-3 days with $300 insurance and tracking at checkout for an additional cost. DHL 1-2 USA delivery is also available at checkout for an additional cost.

Packages to the USA should not incur duties or taxes as they are shipping directly from the USA (Niagara Falls NY) IF for whatever reason duties/taxes are owed, these are the responsibility of the receiver. The Maximum allowable we can ship via USPS from Canada is a value of $800usd. If your package is over $800usd it must be shipped via DHL. Please chose the DHL option at checkout. Please note that the USA/CANADA trade agree is Duty/Tax free up to $800usd. Any package over the value of $800usd can/will be liable for Duties and Taxes.

SHIPPING INSURANCE: All of our USPS packages and AsendiaUSA packages are shipped with up to $400 insurance to countries where insurance is applicable (there are a few countries where insurance is not possible - if you are concerned your country may not have insurance options, please contact us in advance). Canada Post shipments shipped via Chit Chats (standard shipping) have up to $400cad insurance. Canada Post shipments (xpress post) have insurance up to $100. Additional insurance can be purchased upon request. DHL shipments are fully insured.
Please note that insurance ONLY covers Loss and Damage, not Stolen packages. We highly recommend only shipping your items to secure locations or if you have a concern about security, please request a "Signature Required" option (USA/CANADA only) for an additional small charge. We can't be held liable if items are stolen from your location.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: All items are shipped international via USPS and AsendiaUSA.
The following countries are shipped via ASENDIAUSA - these are fully tracked and insured. The delivery takes approximately 6-21 BUSINESS days.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom

All other countries will be shipped via USPS First Class International - some countries offer tracking, some do not. Please contact us if you are concerned and we can let you know if this method of shipping has tracking or not. If there is no tracking available, the package is also not insurable.

DHL Worldwide - We also offer DHL Shipping World Wide. Please contact us for rates.
Please note that we are ONLY offer DHL Express shipping for packages bound to Ireland currently. There is a current situation with Ireland Customs and packages being rejected and returned with regular air mail. When this situation changes, we will update our services.

We do not ship to countries that Canada and the United States currently have embargos against.

The Maximum allowable we can ship via USPS/AsendiaUSA from Canada to international locations is a value of $800usd. If your package is over $800usd it must be shipped via DHL or Canada Post. Please contact us for rates. We will provide the absolute best rates we can.

GERMAN PACKAGING ACT: German customers, we are now fully compliant with Germany's packaging act and have registered our business in the responsible recycling program. Our Registration number is DE1212455189541.

CUSTOM FEES/VAT/DUTY CHARGES: Please note that we are NOT responsible for custom duties or taxes incurred. These are the responsibility of the buyer. Please ensure that you are aware of your countries importation and tax laws before purchasing. Items that are refused by the customer and are shipped back to us because of failure to pay import fees/VAT/taxes are not subject to a refund.

ITEMS SHOWN AS DELIVERED BUT NOT RECEIVED: If your item is tracked and has a delivery scan but you have not received the item, please contact us and your local post office immediately. USPS has a tendency to mark packages as delivered a day or two before actually delivering the item. So please hold tight for 1-3 days post "Delivery Scan" as it will most likely show up within that time period. USPS also will hide packages if they deem the area unsafe. Check flower pots, window wells and overturned garbage cans, we've seen it all! If your package shows as delivered and all the above solutions did not produce the package please contact USPS directly to see if they can do a GPS track of the package. Although we insure all packages, unfortunately once the package is shown as DELIVERED, our insurance will not cover the package. Please ensure your location is secure to receive packages. If it is not, we highly recommend sending the package to a safe drop location or another address that is more secure. We can not cover loss or theft of packages if they are shown as delivered. If you suspect that a theft has been made, you will have to file a police report with USPS and your local police department.

LOST PARCELS/NON DELIVERY: If a package is shipped with full or partial tracking (see lists above) and full insurance (we insure all tracked packages) we will work with the shipping companies to locate the package and/or file a claim. International TRACKED packages are only deemed lost after 45 BUSINESS days. We can not file a claim before this date. In the meantime, if the item is replaceable (not OOAK), we will send out a replacement item at our cost (using the originally purchased shipping method) after the 45 business day wait time. In the case of a lost package/non delivery that is NON TRACKED, it will be at our discretion if we replace. We will only replace in this instance, not refund.
If your country is NOT listed on our country shipping list above, we HIGHLY recommend contacting us for a tracked option.

ITEMS RECEIVED DAMAGED: We inspect all of our items 3 times before packaging and shipping to ensure that they are in perfect condition. Every item is carefully packaged in a sturdy gift box and then shipped in a bubble mailer or sturdy mailing box. If you receive your item and it has been damaged in transit, please notify us within 48 hours of receiving the package. Any notification after 48 hours will not be honored. Please provide us with detailed photos of the damaged package as well as the damaged item. If we do not have these photos we can not file a claim with the mail carrier. Please do not throw out the damaged packaging until we have received the photos.
Damaged items WILL NOT be refunded, they will only be replaced. We do not offer refunds for damaged items, no exceptions.

INCORRECT SHIPPING ADDRESSES: Please ensure that the address provided at ETSY checkout is the CORRECT shipping address. We are NOT responsible should and items be shipped to an incorrect address. If the item is returned back to us, the buyer is responsible for all return shipping fees. If we can not make a shipping label due to an incorrect/insufficient address, we will make 3 attempts via etsy messages and email to contact the buyer. If we do not receive a response within a week of sending a message to the buyer we will cancel the order less a 25% cancellation fee.

ITEMS NOT RECEIVED BY REQUIRED DATES: We can not be held responsible if your item/s are required by a specific date and we are NOT provided this information ahead of time. Unless a rush order has been paid or we have been given ample notice of your "need by date", we will ship all items as per our schedules outlined on our website Faq/Policies page. Items are NOT eligible for returns if they do not arrive in time for your required date if we are not made aware of this date at time of order.

Please note that our shipping/delivery times are based on averages. Excluding Canada and the USA, we CAN NOT be held liable if items are held in customs for longer then the average delivery time. We have no control over this. We will also not mark items as "gifts" to avoid customs/duties. This is illegal. Please do not ask us to do this. Although Canada/EU has signed free trade regulations, some items may still have duties on them if not outlined in the trade agreements. Please familiarize yourself with your countries import laws and dutiable items before purchase. We will not be responsible should you owe duties upon receipt.

CUSTOM DESIGNS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All of our bridal adornments are handmade in our studio. Each design has been meticulously crafted using over 25 years of sewing and millinery experience.
All of our photography, listing descriptions and designs are protected copyright by Blair Nadeau Bridal Adornments. We would appreciate that you respect our designs and do not ask others to copy our work, or use our words and photography as your own.

Our Half Crowns are a 15"
**As these items are adjustable, they are eligible for return**

For styles that we require a size at checkout, please measure carefully when measuring head size, shoulder width, back length and waist width, as items that are sized to fit (juliet caps/shoulder necklaces, back necklaces and sashes/belts are not returnable) If you have ANY concerns on where to properly measure, please email us!

When Will My Order Ship (Processing times)

All of our beautiful adornments & veils are made to order, each with their own specific production time. We don't carry stock, as we prefer to make each piece for their recipient on a per order basis so know that when we are making your order, it is specifically for you!

Do You Accept Rush Orders

Yes! We do. Most of our items can be made rush. If you have a tight timeline, please contact us first to see if we can accomodate your request and we will get back to you right away with what is possible within the time frame and which shipping service we recommend to ensure that the order will get to you in time!

Shipping - Canada/USA

We have worked very hard with our shipping partners to find the best shipping rates & quickest shipping times for our customers.

CANADA - Standard Canadian shipments are sent via Chit Chats Express/Canada Post with tracking and partial insured. This service takes 2-8 business days depending distance to Toronto.
We also offer Xpress Post at an upgraded cost (available at checkout) and next day Purolator by request.

USA - Standard shipping is USPS First Class Mail with tracking and partial insurance. This service takes 3-5 business days on average.
We also offer Priority mail (2-3 business days on average and is available at checkout) and 1-2 day DHL Express (also available at checkout)

Shipping - International

We ship all of our packages either via AsendiaUSA or USPS International Tracked Mail These packages are trackable and partially insured. Shipping takes approximately 7-30 business days.

We also offer 3-5 day DHL shipments world wide. Please contact us for rates.

Current Covid 19/Shipping Issues:

AUSTRALIA - currently shipments are taking up to 45 business days. Please plan accordingly. All Australia shipments are sent via Asendia USA as USPS has cancelled shipments

IRELAND - Postal packages to Ireland are being returned to sender due to issues with Customs. We are ONLY shipping via DHL Express currently to Ireland. Please contact us for rates.

Do You Accept Returns

We do accept returns on some items. As all of our items are made to order and many are sized to order, we can not accept returns on all items.

Please note that earrings are considered Final Sale - No exceptions, due to hygienic issues.

Care instructions

All of our items are created to last generations, they should be delicately cared for when received to be cherished and passed down.

Each order will come with a Veil and Adornment care card. This card will outline how to care for and store your items so they can last for a lifetime.

Please note that we do work with plated, filled and raw metals. Oxidization is natural and will occur overtime. To slowdown this natural process, keep items stored in an airtight container wrapped in tissue or an sealed ziplock bag.
