5 out of 5 starsI bought this to hold matches and to use as a striker. It’s beautifully made. I love the unglazed appearance. I use ‘strike anywhere’ matches on the bottom of the holder and it works quite well.

Working on the wheel in our garage studio.
I first started making pottery about 25 years ago, taking classes throughout high school & college. I took a break as I finished college but still dreamt of one day, being able to sit out on my back porch as an old lady, making pottery once again. To my surprise, my husband gave me a wheel & kiln as a wedding gift! Fast forward 12 years, 7 moves, and 5 children later, we moved into our first home where we'd be able to set up a small pottery studio. However, life is full and our garage was too! November 2016, my husband gave me my Christmas gift early by cleaning out our garage studio nook and making sure I was set up with everything I needed to begin. Sitting down at that wheel was like taking in a deep breath of fresh air.
I never thought in this season of life that my husband and I would be able to launch our own pottery business but I am so grateful to have another outlet to do something I love alongside the man I love. He is the administrative manager who makes Blanc Pottery run smoothly. And me, I just have a ton of fun taking a simple lump of clay and molding it on my wheel into a functional work of art that can be apart of making both the celebrations as well as the everyday aspects of your life more delightful.
My greatest joy in life is knowing I was created by God to know Him and to enjoy Him forever. Through Jesus Christ, my life has been beautifully redeemed and it has altered the way I walk through every blessing, trial or mundane moment this side of eternity. Everyday is wonderfully full and I consider it a privilege to be able stay at home with our children. Making pottery isn't my main priority but it is one way I'm refreshed and refueled.
I hope you have as much fun using your pottery as I had making it! I look forward to assisting you with your order and any questions you have.
