Well I didn't actually get to try the almond roca, but instead got the sea salt caramels. And they are amazing! I would definitely order more caramels.

Really yummy! It was hard to not eat the entire bag in one sitting.
Gourmet caramels and baked goods made to order
Sugar. Butter. Chocolate. Flour. It's amazing how many different delectable items start out with these main ingredients! Then of course there is my true love, CARAMEL...which I try to add into as many baked goods as possible! Everything is made fresh with wholesome ingredients, no preservatives or chemicals, and in small batches.
The story of how Bliss Candies came about is fairly common...one year I decided to try making caramels as Christmas gifts, and people loved them so much that they said I should try selling them. Plus they already knew I loved making desserts. It took them a few years to convince me, but here I am!
What's not-so-common, as any avid baker/candy maker knows, is that though recipes may be similar, everyone's process is a little different. And it is these small differences that create a unique item and eating experience. Give 10 people the same Apple Pie recipe and you will get 10 different pies ;)
My husband says it is the love I put into everything I make (which is true), but it's also my unique way of mixing, the pans I use, the adjustments I made to recipes (I never seem to be able to follow one without staying a bit), and just a "je ne sais quoi" that years of experience have given me.
My main specialities are caramel making and dessert bars, in particular layered ones. I just love the presentation and "wow" factor of being able to see and taste different layers of flavor! Besides caramel and chocolate, I also love incorporating toffee, peanut butter, nuts, cream cheese & coconut into what I make.
And I admit, I'm very picky about what get's sent out and I taste test every batch of caramel and all of my baked goods to ensure it meets my standards! Good for my customers, not so good for my waistline, lol.
Besides slaving in the kitchen, I also am hard at work at my other etsy shop, Kawaii Goodies (www.kawaiigoodies.com). There you'll find lots of unique craft supplies & stamps, party favor & wedding embellishments, lots of kraft brown packaging options, and tons of Japanese washi tape!
As for MYSELF, when I'm not working on the 2 etsy shops God has blessed me with, I'm spending time with my family and pets! I enjoy cooking and baking, playing out in the dirt (my garden), reading & doing crossword puzzles (I NEVER cheat, even years later), cross-stitching (though I haven't done it for a decade of so), and my latest obsession (as well as my hubby's) are k-dramas & k-pop. We love it so much that we both hope to visit Seoul Korea one day!
I hate exercising and really need a drill Sargent to get me in shape, and I'm definitely never accused of being a clean-freak, ha! I should really just put a sign in front of home that says "will trade baked goodies for maid service!"...I wonder if anyone would come...?
I do love the idea of traveling, however hardly ever get a chance to do it myself. I'm determined to change that though, as there are so many places to see! And if I were to have a "secret power", it would that I can find just about *anything* with Google, sometimes I even amaze myself.
I'm Asian, so it goes without saying that I'm a huge fan of Asian food, especially Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese food. I feel a bit like a fish in the middle of desert though, as we moved a couple years ago from the "big city" to a small farming community where super-bland Chow Mein is as adventurous as they get. On the bright side, that has forced me to try making most of my favorites on my own, so I'm learning a lot! I could live off of Massaman Curry & I'd want that as my last meal, yum!
Sugar addict, Words with Friends junkie, work-a-holic, wanna-be crafter, newbie gardener, and an introvert who gets easily distracted. That's me in a nutshell!
