Rubber vs Leather
We use rubber in our designs because we find it superior to leather in the properties that matter to us. Rubber is not an inexpensive replacement for leather. In fact, pricing is comparable and quite often quality rubber is more expensive than leather. We want to ensure you receive the highest quality and best functioning product and we believe rubber is the best option for the products we use it in.

As a matter of fact you very well may have. All the parts we use are brand new but along with loving Impact Play Gear we also love giving new and exciting life to boring items you may see every day but do not even notice. It is fun for us and it creates unique Gear that can be a joy to use.

Unlike other places you may purchase from all of our pieces are hand crafted and custom made to your specifications or made to order when your order is placed. The item in the picture is the original piece that I designed and created and I will be creating the pieces that you order. Being designed and created by hand ensures a high quality piece but not being created by machine means there may be some slight differences from the picture. Also, please keep in mind that all monitors / phone screens do not display colors exactly the same so this may account for differences as well. With that said, I of course strive to create a piece that looks like the piece in the picture.

Sometimes with improper storage or during shipping rubber gets crinkled or bent. I use a travel garment steamer to fix this and it works perfect. On thin rubber falls run it up and down the falls a few times without touching them and watch the falls go right back into position. For thick falls or rubber paddles you can place the steamer directly on the rubber but keep it moving and they will be ready to go. The steam also help when it comes to sanitation.

To clean and sanitize your rubber gear it is very simple. Water does not harm rubber as it does with leather. You can use an anti bacterial dish washing soap or a liquid anti bacterial hand soap. Wash your gear with antibacterial soap and warm water on a regular basis. Bring the soap to a lather on the piece making sure to cover the entire piece, rinse and dry. That is it, your gear is cleaned and sanitized. Don't try that with leather, you would ruin most leather. Like many things, simple is better.

It is simple to condition your rubber gear and make sure your floggers flow like water and your straps and paddles shine bright. Simply rub them with your favorite natural oil- like sunflower oil or olive oil. I use a mixture of oils on the Blissful D items along with scent from essential oils. I will be offering it in the shop soon. Stay natural and remember the piece comes in contact with the human body so avoid auto rubber shine and such with all their harsh chemicals.
