"I was thrilled with my experience purchasing the sari print yoga mat bag. From the craftsmanship and the beauty of the sari print through the purchase and delivery of the bag; my expectations were exceeded during the entire transaction. When it was discovered that the fortune usually placed inside the bag had fallen out, I recieved a hand written note with the fortune included. That was above and beyond customer service and bordered on kindness! I look forward to my next purchase"

Additional Policies and FAQs
The idea of prayer bags has been something I have worked with for several years. When a loved one died in my family we would take the roses from the funeral and have them made into small beads. the beads were then made into Catholic rosaries. As the sole seamstress in the family I was always requested to make a bag to hold these special prayer beads. I would make a simple drawstring bag in with fabric that reminded me of the loved one who had passed on. Such as their favorite color or a pattern of their favorite flowers.
Move forward several years when my wonderful husband gave me a set of Buddhist mala beads for my meditation practice. I was unsure of the best and most reverent way to store the beads so I started doing a little research. I found an interview online with the Dalai Lama. He stated that the best way to store your beads when they were not in use was a simple cotton bag. I was touched by the similarity of the religions. That no matter what these beads deserved a simple and respected place to reside.
I started making prayer bags for sale in my shop in 2010 with six designs, mainly Catholic and Buddhist. My first bag sold in 5 minutes! I began receiving requests for bags with symbolism from additional faiths - Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, and many others. I started research into the history of these revered and ancient symbols. From there I chose how best to represent them in terms of design and colors. I began employing stamp makers to carve stamps just for my line of prayer bags. I now have close to 50 designs.
The bags have taken on a life of their own and traveled in directions I never thought of when I first started making them. They have become travel and storage bags for special or sacred jewelry. People place them in their trees at the holidays and in the alters or meditation places of their homes. One of my favorites stories was from a woman who was recovering from a long illness. She bought several bags and wrote notes of gratitude for all the people who had been her care givers. She placed the notes inside the prayer bags and gave them to her loved ones. She told me that no material items could thank these people enough for helping her but my prayer bags came close.
I love hearing the stories of what my customer have done with their prayer bags. If you would like to share your story with me I would love hearing it! just click on the "contact" link to send me a note. And as always, if you would like a custom bag made please let me know, I will do everything I can to make it a reality for you.
I truly believe that small decisions can make a very large difference. Most of my bags are unlined with professionally finished edges to prevent fraying. I chose fabrics that are very strong and do not need a lining. My professional belief is that lining a bag of this nature is wasteful and environmentally unfriendly. Twice the fabric means double the resources used, double the fuel used to ship the fabric to the store, and double the water and energy for me to wash and prep the fabric for construction. If a fabric that I use is delicate and needs support I will line it in cotton. And of course I will line any custom orders at the customer's request. Thank you for understanding and please contact me with questions or comments.
