Excellent item, however bummed that the actual item differed from that in the picture. Picture shows rubber over both ends of the clamp, which I prefer, but mine came with rubber on only one side.

About

I've been a working mason for three decades; the tools I'm making are based on what I wished I had, but didn't exist all those years.

I've lived and worked as a mason in the Phoenix, Arizona area for over 25 years. So much block is manufactured and installed here that at one time Phoenix was considered the masonry capitol of the world; affectionately called Block Town by the locals.

In my many years here I've seen some very creative solutions to tool problems. But for some reason the "big guys" who make most of our tools seem to have no interest in mass producing some of what I consider the best innovations made by men laying block in the field.

So I decided to start making them myself. I learned to weld. I found steel suppliers and specialty shops that were willing to do what I couldn't.

I have at least 6 innovative products in the pipeline. My first, StaPut Line Stretchers, have been around for decades. Masons would weld, bolt, or rivit steel parts onto Clamps as a way to replace line bars and line blocks. The first time I seen one of these clamps was around 1992, when I first arrived in Arizona.

It was an ingenious idea. And over the years I've seen many homemade versions. But that's all I saw. If a guy wanted one, he had to make it himself, or know the guy who knows the guy who made his. And convince him to make a few more.

Now, any mason in the world can just google "masonry line clamps," find my Etsy listing, make a few clicks, and in a few days have the highest quality pair of line Clamps available anywhere!
