A modern take on a historic artform.

Reminiscent of the way amber (fossilized tree resin) encases and preserves ancient plant life, cyanotype has been used to preserve the images of flora for scientific documentation since the early ages of photography. Each Blue Amber cyanotype is hand coated with a mixture of potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate on high grade paper, exposed to the bright Texas sun, developed, then preserved in resin. Due to the highly variable nature of cyanotype, no two pendants are exactly alike, rendering your pendent a truly unique work of art.

Care instructions

One unique property of alternative process cyanotype is that prints remain light sensitive even after they are developed! The blue tones of your necklace are likely to lighten when exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time. To restore the original deep blue tones, simply store your necklace in a dark drawer over night!
