Bringing nature into your home.

Blue Armadillo Design was created in 2018 as a way to share our work and passion for the Australian fauna and flora. My dear friend Inka sadly passed away in 2019 and I decided to continue what we started together.

My name is Odile and I am a self-taught artist and artisan, a water colourist and a keen portrait drawer. Nature has always been a big part of my world and has been a constant source of inspiration.
I hope you can feel a certain gentleness in my work with a deliberate choice in monochromatic (single colour) prints. I wish to convey with sensitivity a sense of strength but also fragility in my designs.
My wish is to bring awareness in the importance of conservation of our environment.

So, how does it all start? always with pencil and paper.
Once the sketches are finished, the silk screens are then prepared for the next stage. Sun light is used to "burn" the image onto it. Following that, each item is hand screen printed with eco friendly inks to ensure the process remains kind to the environment.
The natural beauty of the designs is enhanced by choosing high quality fabrics:
Russian linen, linen/cotton blend and cotton.

These authentic items are timeless and will bring a bit of nature in your home. They will also make gorgeous gifts for those special to you here or overseas.

Enjoy them as much as we do, naturally.

I grew up in France and moved to Australia in 1996. Drawing and painting has been part of my whole life and I personally feel the most alive while working on creative projects, screen printing has been a way to express that.

Drying your linen items: we recommend to line dry your item out of direct sunlight.

Ironing your linen items: Linen doesn't require any ironing if you enjoy the natural creases of the fabric. You might like to iron it if you prefer, best is to do so when the fabric is slightly damp and remember to iron on reverse or to protect the printed design with a cloth.

Storing your linen items: Store in a cool and dry place. It is naturally moth resistant. Do not use plastic bags for storage as linen is a natural textile and needs to breath
