About BlueArmadilloDesign

Bringing nature into your home.

Blue Armadillo Design started off as a creative outlet for my dear friend Inka and myself, Odile, and our shared love for Australia's fauna and flora. We both came from teaching background but always enjoyed painting, drawing, exploring possibilities or simply creating objects, as for myself, I don't remember a time when I didn't draw or paint and I have carried that passion quietly my whole life (Instagram: @bluearmadillodesign and @odilebell) .
2019 was a very sad time as my dear friend Inka passed away.
I decided to continue what we started together as this little venture brought so much joy and happiness in our lives.

Nature has always been a big part in my world and its sheer beauty and intricacy has been a constant source of inspiration and is conveyed in the designs.
Working on a design is one of my favourite parts in the process as it gives me a real buzz of creative energy and brings a lot of joy and satisfaction. I seek to reflect with sensitivity, nature's strength but also its fragility.

The process can be a bit lengthy but it always start with pencil and paper.
Once the sketches are finished, the silk screens are then prepared for the next stage. Sun light is used to "burn" the image onto it. Following that, each item is hand screen printed. Eco friendly inks are used to make sure the process remains kind to the environment.
The natural beauty of the designs is enhanced by choosing high quality fabrics:
Russian linen, linen/cotton blend and cotton.

These authentic items are timeless and will bring a bit of nature in your home. They will also make gorgeous gifts for those special to you here or overseas.

Enjoy them as much as we do, naturally.

I grew up in France and moved to Australia in 1996. Drawing and painting has been part of my whole life and I personally feel the most alive while working on creative projects, screen printing has been a way to express that.

Drying your linen items: we recommend to line dry your item out of direct sunlight.

Ironing your linen items: Linen doesn't require any ironing if you enjoy the natural creases of the fabric. You might like to iron it if you prefer, best is to do so when the fabric is slightly damp and remember to iron on reverse or to protect the printed design with a cloth.

Storing your linen items: Store in a cool and dry place. It is naturally moth resistant. Do not use plastic bags for storage as linen is a natural textile and needs to breath
