About

Biologist Turned Jewelry Maker - Blue Beehive Studio

Thank you for visiting! I created Blue Beehive Studio as a way to combine my interests that have been woven throughout my life - science and art. I have always been fascinated by the environment and enjoyed taking a variety of courses throughout my academic career ranging from soil structure to evolution. At the same time, I always enjoyed using my hands to create things - from tagging along with friends in a welding or ceramics shop, or learning a new art technique.

Creating Blue Beehive Studio has allowed me to combine these interests by incorporating the beauty of a plant's anatomy, a stone's inherent beauty, or other symbols, into pieces of wearable art.

Over the years, life has taken me in various directions (including a wonderful family with three amazing children). I am very fortunate to move from doing art part-time while working outside the home part-time and raising children, to this Fall 2016 doing art full-time.

RETURNS
What CANNOT be returned:
Custom orders & earrings (for health/safety regulations)

Steps to return an item:
1) Contact me within 14 days of delivery via ETSY.
2) I will provide information to return an item. It must be returned unworn and shipped in original or equivalent packaging to prevent damage when returned. Customer responsible for postage and I highly suggest using a tracking number, as the Studio is not responsible for items lost in transit.
3) When I receive the piece, it will be examined to see if it is in its original condition. The buyer is responsible for any loss in value. I will then reimburse the customer for the value of the piece (minus any loss in value). Original shipping charges will NOT be reimbursed.

I accept PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account to use it), Etsy gift cards, and credit cards.

* After payment is cleared, orders are generally shipped within 1-3 days (see top for any shipping delay notices!).

HOW ITEMS ARE SHIPPED
* Items within the USA are shipped First Class via US Postal Service. You will receive a tracking number for your order for jewelry pieces. You will NOT receive tracking for stationary products if purchasing 3 or less cards (this keeps shipping costs down for the customer)

* If priority or other shipping methods are requested, please contact me prior to the purchase to see if it can be shipped earlier.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS
* The customer (you) are responsible for any of your country's custom taxes/fees/duties or other charges collected by your country's customs clearance.
* Please note, I will not lower the value amount, or mark purchases as a gift on the customs form.

SHIPPING ADDRESSES & LOST PACKAGES
* Please be sure your shipping address is correct before checking out. I am not responsible for items shipped to an incorrect address!
* If the tracking shows the item was marked as delivered, I am not responsible if it was stolen/misplaced at that point. Please be sure the address you are shipping to is safe!
