So excited by my purchases!!!! I bought 5 skeins of yarn, a sock project bag and several larger project bags. The are beautifully made with attention to detail. The yarn is going to be a hap shawl. Not sure about design yet but excited by the yarn colors and the saturation of color of the yarn. The project bags were exactly as described and have great design features including the handy carry strap. The sock bag was exactly as described also and not sure what confused a previous reviewer. My transaction was smooth and I had my items in very quick order. I will definitely order more from this seller.

The photos made it seem like I would be buying four bags, which wasn’t the case. Additionally, the bag was a lot smaller than I expected and didn’t accommodate much at all. All in all, the product, while well made, did not meet my expectations at all. The seller was very kind and allowed me to return for full credit and said that she would modify he listing so it was clearer.

Quality Yarn, Dyed Naturally

Since I was a little kid, I have always loved taking materials from nature and turning them into something beautiful and useful. I learned to knit as a child, as well. It took a while, but a few years ago I combined both passions and started dyeing yarn with plants I found in the ecosystems around me in upstate New York.

After tons of research, lots of trial & error, many skeins and loads of joyful days taking notes and making messes at the dye pot, my yarn stash was getting bigger and bigger and I came to the realization that I would never be able to knit all the yarn that I wanted to dye! And thus, Blue Sheep Yarn Co. was born to feed my dyeing addiction and share my joy.

I strive to provide quality yarns in bright, bold colors that reflect the beauty nature. I harvest local dye plants using sustainable methods and also grow my own in my backyard dye garden. I am currently looking for a local source for yarn, and hope to have my yarns 100% made in New York in the near future.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy looking around my shop! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I am happy to do custom orders or just chat about dyeing!
