About

My Journey

My love of jewelry has taken me on quite a journey testing my will and determination. I have always loved jewelry, from collecting 'precious' jewels as a kid to teaching myself beadweaving and stringing as a teen. My dream was to eventually work with precious metals and to teach, but along the way became involved with the family floral business. Unfortunately, the closing of our shop forced me to rethink my future. So, at the age of 32, I decided to return to school to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Jewelry and Metals. Armed with only the equivalent of an Art minor from my undergraduate studies at Penn State and a BA in English, they told me it couldn't be done. But after a year of studying alongside very young classmates, I beefed up my art background and applied to the MFA program at the Indiana University of PA.

Through many obstacles, including health challenges, I graduated in 2010 with an MFA in Jewelry and Metals, and a minor in Ceramics. An MFA is the terminal degree in studio arts, preparing students as a professional artist and/or instructor at the university level. The MFA program at IUP was rigorous, requiring 60 credits as opposed to the usual 45 of many programs, a written thesis, thesis committee, defense, and a solo exhibition of work.

Since graduating, I have enjoyed honing my skills as a bench jeweler, creating designs that are more wearable and selling my work online at Etsy. One thing that I love about metalsmithing is that there is a constant learning curve; there is always a new technique or idea to challenge yourself. Taking the time to go back to basic jewelry making has allowed me the ability to perfect techniques, designs, and my efficiency in production. I have also greatly enjoyed teaching workshops and classes at local art centers and at my private studio in Western PA. My favorite, most rewarding moment is when a student finishes a project and has that look of astonishment and pride at their own creation. It will never cease to amaze me the creativity that people are capable of; they can all have the same exact project and their interpretations are as varied as fingerprints.

Now on to a new chapter...I have moved halfway across the country to Amarillo, Texas! I see in my future a new studio, new students, and maybe even a little jewelry boutique. I can honestly say that I love what I do; I love the challenges, reaching new goals, watching my business grow, and seeing my designs being worn and treasured. My jewelry is being worn all over the world now thanks to Etsy, and for that I am greatly thankful!

Hello and thank you for your interest in my jewelry! I love what I do, so I want you to love what I make for you. If you are not completely satisfied, I will work with you until you are happy. Each piece is lovingly made by hand so slight imperfections are a welcomed part of the design. Since most designs are made-to-order, items may vary ever so slightly from the picture. Please be ensured that all efforts are made to make the piece as close to the original design as humanly possible. Have ideas to make the piece uniquely yours? Convo me with ideas for your one-of-a-kind piece.

Payment
Payment is due upon ordering. When requesting custom work, item(s) must be purchased before work can begin on the piece(s). Since items are all handmade and typically made at the time of order, cancellation requests are not an option unless all other attempts at rectifying the issues have been exhausted. Please see refund policy.
Shipping
My jewelry is completely handmade by me in my Amarillo, TX studio. Most of my work is made to order at this time, therefore please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. If there are special circumstances, please convo me as I may be able to put a rush on your order if I have the materials on hand.
Refunds and Exchanges
My goal is for my customers to be happy with their purchase! If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, I will work with you until you are happy. Resizing or reworking the piece is always welcome at no additional charge on first attempt. After that, charges may be incurred for shipping. If you are not completely satisfied with the piece itself, exchanges for equal value may be made. Since all items are handmade and most are made to order, no refunds or cancellations are honored at this time unless all other attempts at rectifying the issues have been exhausted.
Additional policies and FAQs
Although many listings state there are 6 available, please note that most of these items are still made to order. At this time, this is the only way to give the customer the ability to order multiples of a specific listing. Please allow 1-2 weeks for shipment on made to order items. I apologize for any confusion and feel free to convo me with any questions.
