Creating every day

I started my shop a few years ago but more as an exploration than a serious plan to use it. I find that the technology demands of prepping listings sometimes gets frustrating as it takes away from actual creative works, but I am learning to balance that and look at this process as yet another creative learning experience.

I started my studio with just a pad of paper on my desk and drew. Then I bought some acrylic paints. This was back in 1997. From creating just at a desk, then moving to a room, then another and finally creating a studio (my studio was included in the Spring issue of Studio Magazine in 2012), I've grown and expanded to the point of creating full time.

In 2004 I went to the Painting Experience by Stewart Cubley for a week and my painting life exploded (prior to that, I completed a single painting in an entire year!) In 2005, I expanded my art to include collage and found object assemblages and began creating recycled/repurposed suncatchers. I continued to paint. I continued to expand my knowledge of glass and discovered that my long time fascination with glass and light was becoming overpowering.

After a family loss, I decided to take a leap and finally purchased all I would need to set up a glass studio and began making lamp worked and fused glass works. I took several classes but primarily I have been self taught over the years. I took several stained glass classes and learned the Louis Comfort Tiffany style of stained glass.

I must admit, I have a slight Artist Trading Cards addiction having made and traded over 2000 cards in the past 8 years!

After 14 years, I now create every single day. I art journal, I paint, I make glass, enamel, mosaic and stained glass works. I create found object assemblages.

I have had my artwork in over a dozen different art shows including four solo shows. I still love to show my artwork. I teach classes and I organize art retreats. My life is centered around creating art.

As of 2015, we decided to open separate Etsy shops based on the items we sell in each.

Bohemian Art Cafe is mixed media, bright colors, whimsical at times, primitive with a spiritual twist, and comes in sizes and prices for all ranges of interest--from one inch to large canvas pieces. Art is an integral part of every day and we strive to surround ourselves with art and encourage others to do so as well. Art is a beautiful, intriguing way to connect with our souls and the mysteries of life.

Bohemian Art Cafe is a collective of two artists.

Stephanie is a full time artist and paints, repurposes, mixes media, enamel, mosaic, stained and fused glass, metals and makes hand crafted artwork and jewelry.

Wes is a wood turner who makes acrylic and wood turned pens, bowls, wine stoppers, and other useful and beautiful items.

Please check the items when your order is received. If there are any discrepancies, please notify us within 24 hours from the date of delivery so that we can take corrective action.

Please contact us before returning the items and please contact us prior to giving a review as we will do all we can within our shop policies to provide you with a repaired or replacement item if necessary or a store credit if repair or replacement is not possible.

When returning the item, please make sure to include: Buyer is responsible for shipping and handling on returning items for repair or replacement but I will pay for the return of fixed or replaced items back to the buyer.
Please include Your Etsy user ID or Order # and all your personal contact info in case I need to contact you directly related to insurance concerns.

Important note: All returned products must be have all components included even if damaged.

I do not provide refunds on purchases because the buyer decides after the sale that they do not want to buy the item. I will refund money on insured items only after the USPS provides insurance refund to me and that is dependent upon the buyer coopwerating with any and all requests from me regarding documentation or other items necessary for the insurance to be paid out. I will provide in-store credits for anything that is damaged or lost. No buyer may receive more than 1 refund in any 12 month period except when items are packaged and shipped together and lost or damaged as a single shipment. If an item arrives damaged, I will require the item(s) to be shipped back to me so that I can repair or replace any damaged components.

*** We charge sales tax for orders shipped to Florida addresses. All others are responsible for reporting their online purchases to their country's tax authorities.

We are so sorry to say we no longer accept money orders. We DO accept bank certified cashier's checks. We also accept credit cards through Etsy and PayPal. If you send a check through PayPal, please convo me when your check goes through.

I want to accommodate everyone who wants to purchase from Bohemian Art Cafe, but I also have to be sure to protect our business as well. We will accept personal checks under the following policies and rules: If you want to pay by personal check, I will accept them but personal checks MUST: be from a certified bank within the United States of America, have a check number higher than 1000, be for the correct amount including shipping/handling, and be signed by the buyer, have your current address and name pre-printed on the front (not typed on)--this is the address I will ship to.

If you send me a personal or cashier's check, know that your purchase will NOT ship until your personal check has cleared my bank. So take into account the time it takes to mail me the check and up to 11 days that it takes for the bank to clear a check, plus the time for your item to be mailed from me to you. Any personal checks that do not clear will be reported to proper authorities and fees related to this may apply.

Payment is due within 24 hours of the promise to purchase. We understand that things happen, so if there is some extenuating circumstance, PLEASE convo me immediately so we can make a happy agreement.

Cancellation policy--cancellations must be made within 24 hours from the time of promise to purchase (i.e., when you order it). Otherwise, we do not accept any cancellations.

Payment must be paid within 24 hours of purchase through any of the options provided through Etsy. If there is something that you wish to put on layaway, convo me. Layaway terms are 50% upfront with the balance due within 30 days of the original payment date. Layaway payments that do not get paid in full within 30 days will forfeit the original 50% since I have lost the opportunity to sell the item to other buyers while I have held it in layaway.
Our office hours are Monday through Thursday and we ONLY ship on these days. We do NOT work on Holidays or the weekends. Shipping is done ONLY after payment is received. Payment or checks must be received and clear the bank prior to the shipment being made.

We will insure all shipments for the amount of the purchase. We also get a confirmation of delivery for every item shipped.

I generally ship via USPS based upon shipping from my location to yours and is dependent upon weight and the size of the shipping package. My shipping fees include handling (packing, materials, etc.). I will reduce shipping by combining shipping via regular USPS mail if you are purchasing two or more items from my shop at the same time and the items are all being shipped to the same location. If this is the case, please convo me prior to paying so that I can calculate the shipping costs. If you wish to upgrade your shipping, many of my items do allow for this. You are responsible for paying those shipping costs and for upgrades I cannot combine shipping. For all items that are over $30 I include insurance. Buyers are responsible for providing me photos of any shipping damages and any other paperwork or information that is required from the USPS to receive the insurance. I will replace any damaged or lost items only AFTER the USPS provides me the payment on the insurance, which means it is important for the buyer to cooperate. Failure to cooperate and/or provide the necessary documentation will result in no replacements for damaged/lost items. I do not pay VAT or other international customs fees. Buyer is responsible for doing so and declaring their purchases in their contry of origen appropriately. I will provide tracking upon request. If your item is damaged or lost, buyer MUST contact me via convo within 24 HOURS of delivery. For items that are damaged, I will require photographic proof of damage. I may also require that the buyer ship back the item at their cost. If repairs can be done to the item, I will do repairs and return the item to the buyer. If repairs cannot be done on the item, I will issue an in-store credit for buyer to purchase another item. Cancellations MUST be done within 24 hours from the time you decide to purchase the item. After that I DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS or accept cancellations. Normally I begin the process of packaging and preparing to mail within hours of receiving the order and often ship quickly as well.
Additional policies and FAQs
Collection of Data--we do collect some personal data from our buyers. We use this information for our own marketing purposes and do not sell this information to others. We will comply with local, state, federal government agencies upon court order or warrant if requested to do in terms of providing personal information. All of our original artwork is signed by the artist. We do not make any artwork or jewelry from kits. Some of our components may be manufactured elsewhere such as jewelry findings, etc.
