Announcement   I make retro style hats for both women and men. I collect vintage wool fabric and use it to create 1920s style Cloches, Men's Driving Caps and Irish Walking Hats among other styles. The fabulous quality of vintage fabrics really inspires me. I hope you are as impressed with that quality as I am.

I've been a Costume Properties Artisan and made accessories for the stage for over ten years. I've worked with a variety of designers from around the world and have created everything from foul-mouthed puppets to leather gorgets to spats, crowns and sword belts. I enjoy it all but I absolutely LOVE making hats and hope you enjoy them too!

I am selling my 20 years+ collection of vintage sewing patterns here: (I have lots more to list!)

Hats With a Past - Retro Style Millinery

My shop was born of my love for vintage fashion and my years as a Costume Properties Artisan at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

I use vintage wools to make most of the hats in my shop. I find the quality and colors of these wools are outstanding. I do occasionally use non-vintage wool if I can't find vintage in popular colors like black and charcoal gray.

I have also amassed a collection of vintage buckles that I add to my cloches for a little extra style.

For summer hats I've been using modern linens and cottons. I use European linen which has a really nice weight to it and I'm mad about Japanese linen!

I use only 100% washed cotton for my linings. However, if you would like something else, let me know.

Payment
I accept Paypal and credit cards. I will also accept money orders.
Shipping
I ship through USPS using priority mail in the US. This means your item should arrive within 3 business days. I use delivery confirmation through USPS as well.

I ship internationally! The price for shipping is listed by item under "Everywhere Else".

PLEASE NOTE: Many countries impose a customs or tariff fee on items shipped from other countries. Some fees can be quite high (such as in the UK). This cost is imposed by the country that the hat is sent to so you will have to pay the fee in addition to the cost of the hat and shipping.

I will gladly ship to Canada, however the cost of priority is prohibitive so I will send first class instead. Unfortunately, there is no delivery confirmation for first class to Canada. Canada also imposes customs fees on imported goods.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will accept returns on hats if you notify me when you receive the hat and return it within 7 days of receipt in unworn condition.

I do not offer refunds on custom orders; however,I will accept exchanges.

Please note that the customer is responsible for return shipping.

Please do not simply return the hat without contacting me first. Thank you.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am open to custom orders. I enjoy working with people to give them what they want.

Usually I ask for the colors you are interested in and then convo images to you of the fabrics I have in that range. I also send photos of the buckles I think would work well and we go from there.
