Not only was the shop owner responsive and patient when the post office misplaced a package, but her work is flawless! I am so excited to use the paper roses she has created for our wedding centerpieces and bouquets! The care and detail she puts into her projects show through in her beautiful work. Would highly recommend!

Crafting Storybook Weddings

Every wedding is a story, a fantasy imagined by the bride and groom - a moment, a feeling, a scene. My decorations were crafted to help you write your own love story, and like your story it will continue to last far beyond "I Do."

When I was newly engaged to a writer, who proposed while we celebrated my completion of the National Novel Writing Month challenge, it didn't take too long for us to figure out what we wanted that "moment" to be like. A storybook wedding was the only way to go.

My mind would (and continues to) burst with ideas, not all quite right for my wedding, and so BookCraft was born as a way to share my ideas with other blushing brides to be.

Welcome to BookCraft,
Bringing new character to old books.

This store is the product of four of my loves in life: My love of creating & crafting, my love of books & libraries, my love of writing with a cup of coffee at my side, & my true love - my fiancé. It was the combination of these loves that inspired me to create BookCraft - A store of handmade decor & gifts inspired by or made from books for book lovers, fans of up-cycling, or people who just love creative, rustic, & vintage inspired items.

The books that I am currently using to create my items were all purchased at a charity book sale hosted by a church. My fiancé & I went there to purchase books to use in our wedding, which is book themed, & we ended up buying well over 200 books! I knew that I would not need to use all of those books to create the decorations for our wedding but I wanted to buy them anyways since the amount charged was quite a bit less than what I had originally budgeted to spend & I figured that I would find something to do with them. It was after spending 2 months looking for a job & coming up empty handed that I realized how I could use the books. In June or 2012 I made the decision to open up BookCraft, as a way to earn money for our wedding. It is my full time job, mostly because it is the only job I could find, & I intend to keep it that way for as long as possible.

I love it. I love every aspect of this business from creating the items, to writing the listings, to taking the pictures, to promoting the shop, to interacting with the customers. Yes, I even enjoy the accounting. I had no idea when I opened this store that I would enjoy the work as much as do. I would love to do nothing other, than what I do. And I love to thank those that allow me to continue doing it. That is why I created my Come Again Policy - to thank my customers for allowing me to continue creating my products & managing my business. You can read more about my Come Again Policy in the "Additional Information" section of my policies page.

I hope you enjoy perusing my shop.
Have a wonderful day,
Courtney Rae Troup
