Garden Potter

I’ve been involved with clay for as long as I can remember. My mother was a jewelry artist and an oil painter. During the summer she had access to clay, a wheel and a kiln at a wonderful rustic summer school of art in Michigan. So, to keep me out of trouble she got me started in my lifelong passion - ceramics.

I worked on and off with clay through school and then while raising my family. When my youngest started school, the time was ripe! I went back to the same art summer school that I started with decades before. That was over 25 years ago.

It took me a long time to find my voice in ceramics. I made bowls, mugs and vases that didn’t have any spark for me and looked like many other potters. After I became a Master Gardener and working as a garden designer, I noticed how many people live in the green room behind their houses - their backyards. I thought why not bring a sense of the outdoors into my pottery.

Botanic2Ceramic was born.

In my Etsy store you will find beautiful original pottery for your home and your garden all made of the highest quality of porcelain or white stoneware. Garden and nature has been a huge part of my life and I bring that influence into my ceramics. My handmade pottery is one-of-a-kind since each piece is made individually, one at a time.

My ceramics are meant to be used, loved and become a cherished part of your daily life.

I feel incredibly fortunate that I found ceramics (or it found me!). I love doing what I do and I hope it shows.

Best Regards,
Sue Capillo

• You must contact me within 7 days of receiving item.
• Pottery returned must be in its original condition.
• Buyer is responsible for return shipping and insurance.
• If you decide to return something simply because you don't like it or have changed your mind, but there was
no damage from shipping or a defect, I will refund your money once I receive it in good condition. The
shipping and insurance that I paid to get the item to you is not refundable.
• Personalized and custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged.
• In the event of a damaged piece, the Buyer will receive a refund or replacement item. The Buyer must provide
any and all documentation required by the insurance company. This will require sending photos of the
damaged box and item and/or signing an affidavit confirming the damage/loss before the refund or the
replacement is sent.
• After 14 day grace period, all sales are final.
• In the event of a stolen package, refunds will not be provided. Please provide a safe address.
Shipping
• Packages (in-stock) are shipped within 1-3 business days usually on Wednesdays and Fridays.
For US shipments, I usually use USPS or FedEx Ground. I pack each item in many layers of bubble wrap inside a
heavy duty box. I take great care to ensure items arrive safely
•When the items shipped total $350 or more (including tax and delivery), a signature will be
required at delivery.
• For USPS orders that are returned because the address was wrong. I ship to the address the Buyer types in. If
this is wrong and the package is returned to me, I will either send to a new address once you pay for the re-
shipping or give a refund, less the cost of shipping.
• If something breaks during shipping, I will file a claim with the shipper and refund your money
or replace the broken item as long as you document the breakage with photos of the broken
pottery, photos of the packing materials I used, and photos of any damage to the outside of
the box. The shippers generally require this documentation before paying the claim.
• Please make sure that we are shipping your order to a secure location. I cannot take responsibility for stolen
packages.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
• Because USPS is our only viable option for international shipping, I will make every effort to pack your item very
carefully but will not be able to process a claim should the package arrive damaged. You will need to
work through your local post office to file the claim. I will be happy to provide you with any
documentation needed.
• International customers are responsible for all fees associated with shipping to their
respective countries. Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the United States may be
subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The
recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties
and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for
customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; I have no control over these charges and
cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you
should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance
procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond my original delivery estimates. All
international orders will have full value declared on customs forms - no exceptions.

Care instructions

I use porcelain or stoneware clay that is fired to 2350 degrees F. The higher the temperature, the more durable and chip resistant your pottery piece is.

My pottery is food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Hand washing is advisable to maintain the high gloss on some of my pieces.
