I opened this shop Botanical Art Gallery in the spring of 2013.
I had been painting Botanical / Natural Science Illustrations for quite some time, working from my New York studio/gallery. I had heard so many positive things about the Etsy community so with some tips from a friend I decided to give it a try. I really had fun setting up my shop and love the global exposure and vast audience. In 2019 I moved from New York to a new state and new studio. Now from my Maryland Studio I’m enjoying painting new and different natural science illustrations which I hope to share with you all.

My art process : After selecting a subject I’m passionate about, I begin researching many sources to learn as much as I can about the botany, growth habits, all the details. Now I begin my studies which entails a rough sketch followed by a detailed sketch with notes about size, color, shadows, etc. I then transfer this sketch onto smooth watercolor paper and begin my mixing studies until I get the color that is a true representation of the actual subject. Now I can start actually painting. After the painting is done I make my own Fine Art Archival Gicle'e Prints.

I truly enjoy the entire art process and being fully engrossed in the development of a piece is nothing less than exhilarating. When a customer purchases my art for themselves or for others it all comes full circle. I hope that my work will bring to light details in nature and maybe inspire people to appreciate their natural environment.
