About

Home of handmade accessories by Jordan!

Hi everyone! I'm Jordan Emilie, a 24 year old entrepreneur from rural northern Illinois. I'm so glad you found botny! If you ever have ANY questions feel free to contact me, I love hearing from you guys.

Botny accessories was founded in 2011 by the lovely Dana Holscher. She did an amazing job making earrings and building the business. I found her products online within the first year and completely fell in love. I have sensitive ears and finding some earrings that were cute and handmade was a revelation. I continued to buy from Dana both for myself and for gifts for many years and was so sad to find out that in 2014, she had decided to close the business due to some health problems.

At that time I was at a crossroads, I had some college credits, I had some work experience, but what I didn’t have was a plan. So I went out on a limb and contacted Dana, asking if she had ever thought about selling the business so that it could continue on. After 6 months or so of talking it over and doing some negotiations, we came to an agreement and set a date for my training. I was so excited! Not only was it a great opportunity, but I got to meet and learn from someone I had been watching for years and was amazed by. My time in Fargo with Dana was amazing and not something easily forgot.

But of course, I couldn’t stay in Fargo forever so I packed up all the botny making supplies, hoped I remembered everything Dana taught me, and headed back to my home in northern Illinois. Botny completely took over one room of my house which is now lovingly named “the botny room” and I am happy to say that everything is working out fantastic. The support from all my new botny friends (that’s you guys!) is so amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to create accessories for. Not only that, but the support I’ve received from other makers is beyond anything I could’ve imagined!

All my life I’ve been crafting one crazy project after another and now I can do it for a living! What more could I possibly ask for? You guys have made all this possible, and for that I cannot say thank you enough. So thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, and don’t be afraid to contact me through facebook, e-mail, or etsy to tell me about a new earring idea, or a custom order, or just to say hi! I love to hear from you guys.
