Boxes for Groxes: handmade jewelry by Jenna Wright
I started working with polymer clay in 2009 and have been obsessed with the medium ever since! I enjoy mixing my own custom colours and using them to make fun, vibrant beads. Lately I've been using carving and drilling techniques to create unique effects, but my process changes quite frequently.

My beaded necklaces are strung on nylon-coated stainless steel bead-stringing wire. This will not come into contact with skin as it is completely encased with the polymer clay beads. Small silver crimp beads are used to secure the necklace. I make my own toggle clasps from polymer clay. I do not use any parts containing nickel.
In the past I've made beads with larger holes and strung them on leather or cotton cording for individuals with serious metal allergies who cannot have the silver crimps near their skin. I'd be happy to make a custom item like this for you if you have any concerns!
My earring wires are hand-forged from Argentium sterling silver filled wire. If you require surgical steel wire instead, please message me and I can arrange a custom listing for you.
I use Argentium sterling silver in my earrings because it is more tarnish resistant than sterling silver. I store all of my sterling silver jewelry in an air tight jewelry box to protect it and this works really well.
Polymer clay is a very easy material to care for. If materials like sunscreen get on the clay, it can leave a film on the surface of the beads that can be easily cleaned off with water and hand soap.
