The Annex is a fun gear-switch for modern quilt designer and Etsy seller, Barbara Perrino.
Finding ways for seemingly disparate elements to work together is not completely different from the puzzle of quilt design and building.

5 out of 5 starsA fun and wonderful piece. It has always reminded me of a person who may have 'lost her head'....which makes me smile. Arrived safely, well packaged. I couldn't be more pleased.

one girl's trash...
They say that "makers gonna make" and that couldn't be more true in my experience.
My interests and media are varied and I am pretty much self-taught in all. The first creative focus for me was hand-coated platinum/palladium photography. To give those muscles a rest, exit the darkroom and enter the studio where I could stand up straight in daylight and with my hands all over my materials. My other passion and Etsy shop focuses on my original modern quilts - etsy.com/shop/bperrinohandmade.
But quilting muscles need a rest, too, so I devote studio space and time to creating the three dimensional collages on paper and these small, free-standing, assemblages.
I like to fish but am not a confident angler. I love the “stuff” that fishing requires, mainly the beautiful old bits and bobs that people would make themselves to fish with. Lovely patinas and signs of age and wear make them all the more intriguing to me. Some have been used nearly to the point of ruin which is when I try to snatch them up and give them their props - with just a little twist from me.
Making the assemblages gives me great pleasure.
Thanks for looking.
