About brandMOJOimages
-
I adore photographing Urban Decay, like this image from Pittsburgh: He belonged to an older time.
-
I also love taking photos of things as I find them. This image taken at a bakery in Portland, OR could be from Paris.

Stock images are a new favorite of mine. It creates art from nature. You always make me cry

My name is Marisa Kestel. I am a 40 year old self-taught photographer and have been taking photographs for over 10 years. Well, credit is owed to the many photographers I have known over the years who selflessly shared their knowledge of cameras, tips, and tricks, and just trial and evolution.
The images you see here represent the evolution of my photography. Both in my eye and within my working knowledge of the craft. My photography is about a moment in time and how I saw that moment. How I saw that moment as a captured memory, a frozen component of the world around me.
My surroundings heavily influence my subject matter, from the many places I have traveled and have lived.
I love finding a photo. This all began when I moved to Portland and existed within its city. Adventures around the Northwest formed a love of subjects with some grit. Street life, urban decay and rural footprints. Currently living in the south, I readily find a continued love with abandoned cars and trucks, old buildings. They have so much character and texture that smoothly translates onto the print.
But as a traveler, I floated within the foreign landscape of cities, towns, and countries with camera in hand. The street scenery and those architectural gems have withstood time and still reflect a unique beauty one cannot pass up when you are a shutter bug.
I thoroughly enjoy taking photographs with 35mm cameras, both with film and digital. And my dream is to enhance your space with my images and to incorporate a little mojo into your world.
