Announcement   Welcome to Brave Wheat Photography!

NEW: Refrigerator magnets! 2 1/8" square, any photo in the shop.

At Brave Wheat, I celebrate the Three Perfections of calligraphy (my logo, created by Joanna Taylor at ScriptoriumCuriosum.etsy.com), art (the photographic image) and poetry (a haiku for each piece). I like minutiae, animals, history and all things creepy as captured in the digital image. I'm working on a new series to do with Long Island and New York City history as it relates to the household interior, the world of the woman.

New section: Images of Resistance from the Women's March in NYC.

All photos can be printed in sizes not listed - just ask me in a convo for a special reserved listing. Maximum size 20x20 or 20x30; some only available smaller. Watermark will not appear on any finished product.

My photograph is both beautiful and beautifully composed. The seller is a pleasure to interact with and my purchase arrived quickly and very well packaged.

About

Once a photographer, always a photographer

I started out shooting and developing black and white film when I was a grade schooler. I shot for my own enjoyment for many years, then drifted away from the camera. One day I realized I was still framing shots and editing in my mind's camera, so I picked up a digital.

I get a kick out of finding little things that usually go unnoticed and featuring them. Broken things, old things, solitary things, and feline things - these catch my eye and my lens. In 2015 I added historic interiors to my list of interests. With increasing political protests across the country, I'm getting more into street photography as well. Womens history and rights are the unifying themes.

I've always been a student of the creepy, and I enjoy trips to the cemetery a bit more than I should. I am also on a lifelong quest for the rusty and the busted.

More than anything, I am enjoying the slow process of documenting reconstructed colonial interiors here on Long Island. They show the full scope of a woman's life in the 17th and 18th centuries, because a womans work was, generally, completely indoors.

Thanks for stopping by! I have been shooting in black and white since childhood (back when one could develop and print film at home; back in the days when dinosaurs roamed). I enjoy color, but my favorite p.o.v. is either the black and white or one that sees the black and white qualities of a color shot.

I will place the order at the lab immediately I receive your order.
Shipping
I drop-ship to the US and Canada in stiff cardboard photo mailers or tubes using UPS. Please provide your email in your profile or order, and I will have them contact you when they have shipped. If there is a problem with your shipping, please take it up with the lab.

All other international orders are shipped to me by my lab and then to you, hence the extra time and charge. I use stiff cardboard photo mailers or tubes. The USPS automatically insures for $50. I will send you a convo with your USPS shipping code as soon as I ship to you.

All metal prints follow the same guidelines: US and Canada items will drop-ship, other international orders will ship to me and then to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please inspect your item(s) immediately after you receive it. If you aren't satisfied with your order, please contact me via convo.

I will accept returns within seven days of your receipt of order. Provided the item is in re-sale condition, I'll issue a refund or exchange once I have the return in hand.

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and any loss in value if items are not returned in their original, pristine condition.

If the USPS or UPS cause damage to an order, please file a dispute with them.
Additional policies and FAQs
I do custom orders - sizes not shown, triptychs, that sort of thing. Each listing shows the largest available print size at the bottom of its description. The largest size is 20x20 or 20x30; some are smaller at maximum. Please check each individual listing for maximum dimensions.

I will apply a shipping discount to all orders of multiple shots; please convo me if you're contemplating a multi-shot purchase.
