About BreadAndRosesVintage
Give us bread, but give us roses!
Bread and Roses Vintage takes its name from a 1911 poem from James Oppenheim, and a famous 1912 labor strike in Lawrence, Mass., that came to bear its name. The poem argues that "Hearts starve as well as bodies" — that we must nurture our souls and spirits as well as our physical selves in order to truly live. Bread and Roses Vintage offers you a way to nurture your soul with something beautiful, original and unique, while also opting out of the mass-produced garments that still cause people (mostly women) around the world to, as Oppenheim put it, "sweat from birth until life closes."

I am a lifelong bargain-hunter and fashion-lover. Thrift shopping is not just a hobby, but a way of life for me. I love mixing vintage and modern clothes, especially pieces from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, in my daily wardrobe.
