I love music and I love crafting, so I put those two things together and created Break the Record.
I love to share the story of how I started my Etsy shop. It was around May 2011 and I started brainstorming for the perfect gift to make for my boyfriend for his birthday. I always prefer giving a handmade gift for birthdays and other special occassions because it just feels so much more "from the heart" than a store-bought present. I finally decide on a Vinyl Record Clock. So I very excitedly found the perfect LP and went to get the clock parts I needed from the craft store. Once I made the clock I became obsessed with making anything I could make from old records. I posted a few of the creations on my personal facebook page and had a lot of friends tell me I should try selling my creations on Etsy. So, I gave it a shot in June of 2011.
It was only about a month after starting my shop that I had the idea for my Mixtape Lights. A customer had purchased a clock for her unborn son's nursery which she was doing in a retro theme. She told me that the crib bedding had records and cassette tapes all over it. An instant lightbulb clicked on in my head with a vision of a night light made from cassette tapes. So I quickly got out all my old cassette tapes from the 90s and began experimenting. They were an instant hit with all my friends and family and now have become my best selling product and I am very proud of them.

Shipping
International Shipping:
Internationally shipped orders are sent via Parcel Post to keep your total costs as low as possible. If you would like to pay the expense for it to be sent via Priority Mail (6-10 day delivery), send me a message and I can create a custom listing for you. I do the best I can to provide efficient international shipping, but once a package leaves the US I have no control over the shipping time. I can only estimate the time, because all countries have different customs policies and can choose to hold packages for varying lengths of time, in some cases 30 days or longer. I cannot be held responsible for items getting held up in customs in your country and you are responsible for any duties.
