Black cloth with white ink. Self explanatory how the system stinks. I wonder how much longer before it sinks. It's society's fault as humans just don't think.
New patch design. With how frightening the political arena has become as it resembles reality TV, we NEED to speak out and help those in need. We are writing history so be an active participant in the world community and not just a passive consumer. fist

About

Patching up the world by fighting the frost of humanity's inhumanity with clever art.

Jess Five came up with the name "Breathe. Resist." as the name for her shop by realizing to achieve social change a person needs to breathe to stay alive and needs to resist conforming to society and becoming apathetic. Breathe. Resist. was founded in 2008 by Jess Five out of a passion for art, patches, and punk rock.

Jess was attending School of Visual Arts for Fine Arts and was taking a silkscreening class. Jess was very active in New York City's DIY (do it yourself) punk scene and heard that an anarchist book fair was being held. Frustrated by the lack of punk patches that weren't band related, Jess decided to create patches to fill that niche. The anarchist book fair was the perfect place to introduce her work.

Starting with only eight designs, the patches were a hit at the anarchist book fair. Jess was grateful for having her art be so well received by the community she cared so much about. As a result, Jess decided to pursue patch making with the goal of creating work that engaged society and built bridges between community. She aims to create radical artwork that gets people thinking and talking about issues rather than alienating each other. Jess wants folks to realize there is no abstract "them" or "they" but only you and me.

Since the creation of Breathe. Resist., Jess Five has designed over 60 patches. Jess achieved her goal of creating punk patches that patch up holes in society with art. However, Jess' work is never done as there are always new holes formed in society so she is always designing new pieces.

Items are shipped within one to three business days after the order is received with cleared payment. I don't always have a chance to log into etsy to mark items as "shipped" but I am diligent about shipping. Orders of $100 dollars or more are also shipped insured. If your item is not insured via shop policy - you can request it be shipped insured at extra charge. If express shipping is wanted, please contact me for details.
