5 out of 5 starsWhoa! This is great! Being new at this, I don't know if I want to attempt to dye it, but it looks great as it is. (I've heard of the kool-aid thing, but I have no idea how that works.) Love the buttons, too.

Horn and antler are wonderful natural products. We hope you will love these accessories as much as we do. We select pieces that we think will bring a pleasing, individual look to your creations. Please remember animals use their horns and antlers in play and competition, so some wear and tear occurs along the way. However, because each piece is unique and "made by Mother Nature" you should expect the following:
Variation in length, width, thickness, color and surface finishes.
- Small chips, cracks, holes or splits.
- Drilled holes located at places that worked for each piece rather than at precise or pre-planned spacings.
- Potential warping, cracking or finish delamination if pieces are exposed to water. In our experience, antler is more water-resistant than horn. These materials are usually fine with a quick handwashing, but soaking or machine washing and heated drying may result in damages that we cannot warranty. We recommend removing horn and antler before washing and re-attaching afterwards to prevent damage.
- Colors that absorb differently from area to area, for example in keratin vs. bone portions of a button.
Please note colors are not always captured or displayed accurately by digital media, so the color of the button may vary from what you see on your monitor. Please refer to the written description for additional information. If you need a specific color or shade, please contact us. We like doing custom dye work, but cannot guarantee a result until the piece is finished. Color samples such as fiber swatches or paint chips are very helpful.
We have different finishes available. Glossy finishes are epoxy, which adds a thick covering over a piece and generally strengthens it. Acrylic is our usual choice for matte finishes and does not hide surface texture very much. Some pieces have no added finish, some have acrylic over epoxy. Please contact us if you have specific requirements, otherwise select your items based on appearance and description. Also, buttons are generally finished on only one side. We will put your choice of coating on the second side for an additional $1/ button.
We encourage custom retail orders, but do not offer wholesale or consignment trade. If you want custom dying or spinning, contact us. Chances are we can make just what you are looking for. We require a 50% down payment and clear, written specifications before starting custom work.
