I'm an Appalachian based folk illustrator

Hi, my name is Brian! I am an East-Tennessee based folk illustrator. My work is heavily influenced by my Appalachian home, exploring themes of folklore, mysticism, cosmology, occultism, and the natural world. I started illustrating full-time at the start of 2018 and have been making all my prints in-house since!

I grew up around a lot of paint as a kid; my mother was an amazing oil painter and she was constantly encouraging me to create. Throughout my entire life up until my mid 20s I was creating art recreationally, never believing I could make a true livelihood out of it. Then one day I got fired from a job I hated and I decided to see how well I could do off commissions until I found a new trade. I made new work daily; I worked small and I documented all of it by scanning. Eventually I got to the point where I was making double what I had been at my last job, so I decided to go all in: I invested in a printer and shipping supplies and started making all my work in-house.
