Bright-Eyed Birdie began as a fleeting thought while on a wild road trip with my husband to the West coast. We traveled 2000 miles in about 2 weeks. It inspired me to make something of my creativity.
I heard about this thing called Etsy from a friend in Seattle. By the time we made it to California I had settled on the name Bright-Eyed Birdie. When we reached Colorado I had already started sketching logos and brainstorming my products. It wasn't until we moved to Austin a month later that the company was truly birthed.
Since then it has morphed from resin jewelry and tediously hand-sewn journals to a fantastic collection of my designs on greeting cards, notebooks, stationery sets and invitations. Paper is my one true creative passion.
I find inspiration through antique books that have the pages falling out and beat up record covers that still have love left to give. I use my life as a major source for my design inspiration. Playing video games as a kid with my brothers and finding humor in things those quirky and bizarre things.
I now have a two little kiddos running around to amp up the energy at BEB headquarters. I find that I can get more work done during a 2 hour nap than I would in an entire day. I also thank my lucky stars that I can have both of my boys next to me.
