Announcement
Bright Leaf Pottery was established in 2008 as a working studio for educational and practical use. It is operated out of my home in Columbia Heights, Washington, DC.
For me, the idea of perfection as an end result with my pots is not necessarily a conventional, perfectly round bowl -- I prefer a certain unevenness in my work, a little wabi-sabi, a wrinkle here or there. I am not looking for the perfect, symmetrical bowl; I want to make a bowl that feels comfortable in my hands and for my work to have a feeling of timelessness, earthiness and practicality. I hope the stoneware you purchase from my shop will be used and enjoyed for every-day use for many years to come!

5 out of 5 starsI loved the 4 dinner plates that I received as a gift that I went back to Phyllis and asked her to make me 2 more, so that I would have a complete set! I also asked her to make complimentary bread plates to match and they turned out beautifully! The communication while my items were being made was great and the packaging was superb! Thank you, Phyllis!!

5 out of 5 starsBought this for my sister as a Christmas gift and she loved it! It arrived promptly and safely, was very nicely packaged, and it was even more beautiful in person than in the photos! Also it is smaller than a regular pie size but larger than an "individual" pie size so she thought it would be perfect for making both sweet and savory pies for her & her husband. Thank You!

I have a husband, three grown children along with two grown children-in-law, 3 grandchildren, and a home I love in Washington DC. I walk down my stairway to go to work. With clay. I love it!
