Announcement    Hello

A special note to attendees of Germanfest in Muenster two weeks ago.. the fabrics I ordered after that weekend have just started to arrive in the post( more are expected today( 5/12). I will sew the bags as quickly As I can and upload the bags to my store….

Thank you for coming to my store; please feel free to browse. I will be happy to answer any questions.
If you live locally,( Denton area).. I will be happy to arrange a meet( socially distant of course) for bag delivery

My goal is to add some fun and environmental responsibility to shopping, travel, storage, school, vacations and travel with my fabric tote bags...easy to fold and throw in your purse, backpack, briefcase. Alternatively, they also make great decorative storage.
(In this time of the corona virus it’s nice to have a washable bag too!)

Some of my bags feature at least 50% repurposed fabrics, usually in limited quantities... so while I am happy to make a custom bag, or a photo bag, please understand the fabrics might be different. Others have original photographs on the bag

Throughout the year my bags may also be purchased at various festivals including:
The Denton Community Market..April through November...I will be there the first Saturday of the month only.
The McKinney Farmers Market on every other Saturday( 8-12 in the summer.. 9-1 for the winter market 1st and 3rd Saturdays December-March)
I will be at Germanfest in Muester, TX the last weekend in April 2021 and Oktoberfest, also in Muenster, first weekend in October.
Please check my Facebook page for other festivals.(www.facebook.com/BrigidBrammerBags)

From dogs to bicycles to bags

Having always had a soft spot for dogs and bicycles it was easy to gravitate to those fabrics on my return to sewing several years ago.
But I wanted something more too....I love repurposing anything and everything...I love the challenge of figuring out what I could make with something that's outlived its present use.
One day I saw a shirt...it was too big but I loved the fabric...what a great bag that would make.....and that was the start....Vintage tablecloths remind me of the kitchen and dining tables at home....who had to sit at the table until they finished their vegetables??? (I hated silver beet..like spinach)..Should be an unpleasant memory but really isn't...we had a budgie who started screeching and talking everytime the tablecloth went on the table....

Unfortunately not many men's shirts have dog or bicycle fabric so I had to turn back to new fabrics ...but I try to use repurposed fabrics when I can. I sometimes call these bags my "Half and Half" bags...

My other love is photography...although you probably wouldn't know it from my product photography right now...my biggest failing is "I hate doing stuff I have to do"!! I'm afraid it reflects in my bag photos.....My goal is do better....I had this great idea to shoot my bags hanging from the handlebars of one of our bikes...yes...my husband has a bike thing too....I have to shoot the bags at a certain time of the day when the light is just right...difficult when I work five days a week and the best time is just after sunrise!!! And of course our dog, a rescue German Shepherd named Charlie, believes if I'm outside I should be playing with him..now I drag a small ladder outside and can prop it up against a tree (so am not so reliant on time of day).

It's a full life...and I hope to do my part in helping us preserve this beautiful world ....how? By using a fabric bag instead of a one-time plastic bag..by brightening up a dull day with a cheery bag ...by bringing back memories of home and long ago kitchens with the vintage tablecloths...and finally...my dream...using photos to create fun bags .
Thanks for listening
Brigid

Additional policies and FAQs
I would be happy to make any special order bags including photo bags should you have a favorite photo you would like on a bag.
Please consider the size of the original photo and how big you would like it. For example...the largest I can print is an 8 x 10 inch photo. If the photo requested is grainy/a little out of focus, would look better in a smaller size I will use my discretion ...but always email a copy before sewing the bag...fabric choices are up to the individual...or again, if left up to me then I will always seek approval first before sewing the bag. I use "colorfast" cotton for the photos; washing in cold water is best. Thanks.
