While my passion for fine jewelry began at a very early age, it really blossomed when I discovered that any metal other than 14k gold caused an allergic reaction! After taking jewelry classes in the early 1980's I decided I could produce my own fine jewelry made out of real gold. However, I found that i enjoyed making jewelry so much that I decided I either had to stop making it completely or start selling it to support my new habit. I began selling a few pieces in the local art museum gift shop, and then a couple of boutiques, and finally a small department store with five locations. I was thrilled and found that the satisfaction of knowing that others enjoyed my jewelry as much as I did was as gratifying as the actual sales. While my career in education interfered significantly with my jewelry making - i was a teacher and administrator ending my career as an assistant superintendent - I am retired now and am once again thoroughly engrossed in designing and making fine jewelry. The pleasure of creating one-of-a-kind pieces from unusual stones, pearls, and fine metals often accented with a few diamonds is most gratifying!
