I wish I could give more than five stars...at least 10 are deserved. The birds I ordered (a gorgeous bluejay and fabulous red winged blackbird) are so sweet and dear and beautifully made. The sellar provided phenomenal customer service with stellar turn-around time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

About

How the heck did I get here?

I have been a dabbling artist since childhood, but it wasn't until I discovered needle felting through my experience with Waldorf Education that I felt I found my medium. It satisfied my love of sculpting with my love of fibers. After graduating a class of 8th graders, I left teaching to pursue a new career on Etsy. Although my plans had to be adjusted when I decided to home school one of my own children, I have still been able to continue with my Etsy plans - albeit at a slower pace. I am constantly amazed that I can get paid doing something I love and continue to be inspired and challenged by the great artists I find in the Etsy community.

Born in upstate New York, I've lived all over the US. In 2005, my husband's work brought us to Akron, where we happily live with with our two children, two boxers, and any other boxers that need a safe haven on their way to a permanent, loving home.

Thank you so much for visiting my shop. It is unbelievably flattering to have someone think my work is worthy. I love working with fabrics - including cotton and wool, but needlefelting is my greatest love. It is a long process, with even the smallest items taking hours of punching wool with a single, barbed needle in order to "sculpt" the fibers into what you see here. It works for me because I always have the urge to tweak my work. All my sculptures are of 100% hand-dyed wool unless stated otherwise..
