Item arrived a little early, which was nice. Fingerprint on a part of the necklace, easily removable, but slightly annoying. I get compliments about this necklace and the unique design of it. I love the necklace, and I thank the seller for their hard work.

This is my second purchase, and I think I love it even more than the first. It's actually embarrassing - I bought this to give as a gift, but the remarkable detail, the perfect weight, the smooth flat arrow... long story short, I fell in love and the intended recipient got a gift card. The pictures the seller has posted are great, and do a fabulous job highlighting the brilliant detail everywhere you look on this arrow pendant. But it's so much better in person! Shop owner is prompt and a pleasure to work with - and he helped clarify and accommodate my vague cord length requests. Shipping was prompt, even across a border, and overall, I couldn't be more pleased.

I really can't say enough about this piece to do it justice. Love it :) Every little detail on this pendant - the wolf head, knot, background, finish wax, the edge that looks like twisted rope, and even the cord - it's art. It's handmade, stunning art. Typically, to get a piece so perfectly detailed and professional, it would be one of 400,000 made in a factory somewhere. Mine came from an honest-to-goodness craftsman, and one who is obviously both practiced and talented at his craft. Considering I also got a note on how to clean/maintain this piece, I suspect that Mr. Smith also cares a great deal about his work. I'm not sure I'll ever take this off, but I'm still planning to buy another piece from this shop. Workmanship like this can't die out, and people who know their trade as well as this deserve the support!
Metal from Formless to Fantastic
The lost wax casting process is as old as time, today we have modern materials that improve our end results but the process is nearly unchanged.
It starts with a wax master, anywhere from ten to forty or more hours can go into creating that exquisite piece. Then that perfect work gets replicated in a rubber mould, this then goes to the wax injector for reproducing several copies. These copies are sprued up (wax rods are attached to provide pathways for liquid metal) and invested (a special plaster is poured around the wax replicas), then they go through a day long heating cycle called burn out until they reach over 700c. Metal is then liquefied in a crucible, for bronze this means heating to over 980c. Once the metal is ready the flask with a now hollow space gets put onto a vacuum plate, air is drawn through it while liquid metal is poured filling this same hollow place that wax used to occupy, when everything cools for a bit the new metal model is removed from its plaster prison, cleaned, cut and polished until it is perfect.
Owner, Maker, Designer
Having always been a tinkerer I thought it would be neet to build my own melting oven, this idea grew and evolved until several years later I found myself carving casting and finishing pieces in both silver and my favorite metal bronze.
