About

Brookhouse Pottery

My studio can be found in a small section of our basement that I share with my husband’s sound equipment for his business.

About 30 years ago two of my friends and I took a pottery class at the local art center. That was when I fell in love with clay. We took a year of classes and then my friends dropped out but I continued. Within a couple of years I needed to step away from clay and raise my family and follow my career as an elementary school teacher.
About 10 years later I was able to start classes again. Each year the art center had a student exhibit and our teacher encouaged me to put up some of my work for sale. When my pieces sold I was amazed and joyed that people would want to buy my work. That was to be the beginning of Brookhouse Pottery. I soon set up a studio in our basement where I worked when time allowed.
Three years ago I retired from teaching and have been able to do my pottery full time.

In 2008 I discovered Etsy where I was able to sell my work and have loved my interaction with the customers found here.

My pottery training comes from classes at the local art center. I love to make things through my whole life. Finding clay gave me a satisfying and productive outlet. I am so happy to work hard at something I love so much.

Shipping
I take great care in packing my pottery so that it arrives to you in perfect condition. Unfortunately pottery is breakable and on occasion a pot will not survive the rough ride of shipping.
If breakage occurs on an item, please take pictures for claim purposes and I will work with you to rectify the situation. The Buyer will receive a refund or replacement item AFTER they provide any and all documentation required by the insurance company. This may require sending a photo of the damaged item and/or signing an affidavit confirming the damage or loss.

Please make sure you have entered the correct shipping address. I am not responsible for the purchaser incorrectly entering the wrong addresses. Items will not be refunded or replaced if they are sent to the incorrect location due to this error.

I ship USPS within 2 business days of payment. Delivery time can vary from 2-8 days. If you have a deadline please inform me right away and I will work with you. If the item being shipped is a gift let me know so I don't pack an invoice.
All items over $10 are shipped priority mail and packages over $50 are insured.
New York State residents will be charged taxes based on their address.

*International shipping prices can be quoted. Extra careful packaging and proof of mailing will be provided. "International customers are responsible for all fees associated with shipping to their respective countries. Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient, I have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country so you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond my original delivery estimates. All international orders will have full value declared on customs forms - no exceptions."
